    Buttons,
You did 100% the right thing.I was out of work when Orbit fell in & I ran up a £300 odd bill,I'm still paying it off.It was'nt an option. He was there for me in the bad times & the good times.
I owed him his chance at life & I gave it to him.

That's how I see it. Plus the thing is, they called me whilst he was under the GA, getting his Xrays, even if I had said "Sorry I can't afford that, please put him down" It would of still ran up a bill of a few hundred. It's just no contest. Plus he's still a baby, 11months old. He deserves more life than that.

Aww he is gorgeous, you can tell he is a naughty dress munching booger though, he has that cheeky look about him ;)

You got it in one when you said he just hasnt got an emotional attachment to the cats. It doesnt mean he is cruel to them, just that he sees them as belongings with an ongoing cost rather than members of the family as you do, and that he doesnt understand why or how you love them. My OH is the same, wouldnt be the same over a dog though, he'd love a dog! Non-moggy lovers can never understand why moggy lovers love the moggies cos they dont "get" cats :)

Scruffy has just delivered a hairball at my feet, which upon picking up I discovered was also full of silver sequins   does he have to copy your wild kitty monster and eat everything in sight??

Yep, that's true Em. He seems okay about it now, he's going to do OT at work to cover most of the bill :rotfl: Since the vet will take it over 6 months, I'm just going to pay it off £100 a month, I could afford to pay it all at once but I really would prefer not to empty our savings all at once. Good vets them, though ask me that in the morning if the price has went up, heh.

I actually have a stronger attachment to Archie than my other cat I've had longer because she doesn't do much, she doesn't like going on your lap, and only comes over when she wants food, where as Archie constantly demands your attention, he's naughty and nuts, likes to be cuddled like a baby, and is just happy as larry being with you, and that's obvious when he trys to rub my his face on mine when I'm sitting on the loo.

Think I'm away to tidy up the house for any bits and pieces he might find delicious, and bin it. Good reason to clean eh :D

 maybe he wants to feel like a princess too? :p

My other cat has a habit of going for cellophane or anything plastic, when you haven't fed her in a timely manner.

I clearly have cats with eating disorders!!

Until I found the sequin in the hairball, I thought mine just went for cardboard! I cant leave a box anywhere without it getting holes punched in the sides. Silly cats.

Glad its not just mine that harasses me when I'm sat on the loo!

((((hugs)))) We all think you did the right thing and you know you did, so don't listen to any silly men except Spike! If you want even more people on your side, post over on Purrs and they will cheer you on too. ;) Noah wakes me for breakfast every morning, and then had to rub round my legs when I am on the toilet. It makes me wonder why they don't associate the 'sound effects' with them weeing? I don't go and stroke him when he is in the litter tray. :rotfl:

Thanks everyone. I can't even sleep because I'm worrying about him all alone in the vets.

It's strange, I moan about Archie all the time, he's mad as a hatter, always putting scratches in doors, or ripping wallpaper whilst trying to climb to the ceiling and eat a spider, I'm always shouting "no" or "behave" at him, he just loves being naughty, but the house is too quiet without him steamrolling around the place, it's downright creepy!

Don't think Clio (my other cat) minds at all, she seems pretty pleased about getting into my bedroom 24/7 now (normally door is closed because of Archie going into my wardrobe to play tarzan with my dresses)

They have an odd reletionship, he likes to play with her, or bother her in general, and she puts up with it, or hits him back, but when we aren't here and I come home or in the morning, they are always cuddled up next to each other. I think she just thinks she is too cool to show me that she loves him really :D

It's been an awful week, first OH's playstation dies again (It means he nicks my laptop ) and then DD fell asleep ontop of my DS and peed on it, so that's busted, now Archie, just waiting for the my washing machine to blow up to even the numbers up.

Silly cat he is. Does anyone know what the scar will be like? On his tummy or do they manage it from the side? No doubt he will have a cone on his head so I must remember to take the lid off the hooded tray so he still has 2 options on where to pee.
