Evening all
No flying here yet although we (well DH really) have pulled the WM out and disconnected it ready for the Argos men swapping it for a new one in the morning. Need to unscrew the filter and let and excess water out though, and then clean behind it (DH's job I think!) before the new one comes.
I also made a delicious spag bol, DH ate 2 portions so not much left for the freezer!! Also need to fold up all the washing that's on the airer and put it away as it's in the way of the WM delivery route!
I have spent a large part of the day speaking to different people about my uncollected Craghoppers order, they're apparently coming after 6pm tonight but unsurprisingly no one has been yet. I got very wound up and irate with them, am seriously not impressed at all, catalogue of problems from beginning to end and I am currently £184 out of pocket!!
Can I have some 'speedy job extension confirmation letter' vibes please? My boss and his boss have agreed to fund my post for longer (due to finish early July) and extend my 1 year contract by a year (i think, def 9 months), this is great news but I need it in writing basically NOW and they're so slow....Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -

errrr piggers thanks for the offer but NO!!!!! Not all lefties have bad hand writing - me and DD2 are lefties and ours are legible. Though doesn't help in the clumbsiness department. Mum once took me to the docs about it when I was little as I could fall over thin air and knock anything over. He told her it was because I was knock kneed and pincy toed of which I had neither!!!!To love and be loved is the greatest happiness of existance - Sydney Smith0

Shout it from the rooftops I NEED A STAR PLEASE:j:T:j:T:j:T:j:T:j:T:j:T:j:T:j:T:j:T:j:T:j:T:j:T:j:T
Just read back and am now in awe of Pen Penguin - makes my little celebration pale into insignificance really
Aww but that is where you are wrong, your star is just as important as PenPens stars, remember the saying 'Rome wasn't built in a day' or 'From little acorns mighty oaks grow' Of course you should celebrate, heck if I can celebrate a bit of dot2dotting then we can all applaud each other for all that we do, be it large or small
Was great catching up with our friend, she stayed and had pizza for dinner with us before cubs.
Miss A is at cubs, we have taken some books for Akela's daughter's baby (who is due any time soon). Fed friend's cat, come home, W has been showered and now going to have his hair dried before bed so he does not look like a scarecrow n the morning :rotfl:Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -
A Trip To Aldi
Yesterday I was at my local Aldi buying a large bag of Purina dog food
for my loyal pet Dog, and was in the checkout line when a woman behind
me asked if I had a dog.
What did she think I had, an elephant? So since I'm retired and have
little to do, on impulse I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, I was
starting the Purina Diet again I added that I probably shouldn't,
because I ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50
pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming
out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms.
I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that
it works is to load your pants pockets with Purina nuggets and simply
eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally
complete so it works well and I was going to try it again. (I have to
mention here that practically everyone in line was now enthralled with
my story.) Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care because
the dog food poisoned me. I told her no, I stepped off a curb to sniff
an Irish Setter's !!!! and a bus hit us both.
I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack he was
laughing so hard.
Aldi won't let me shop there anymore.
Better watch what you ask retired people. They have all the time in the
world to think of crazy things to say. Forward this (especially) to all
your retired friends......it will be their Laugh for the dayOfficial Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -
penpen Well done!!
jinky Have you bought the landy? I am so jealous.
I have managed to clear all the shelves on my dresser except for a photo of my great nephew. If I can empty the dresser DD wants it.
hex, I have 100s of books listed on Amazon but they aren't selling at present.
I am tempted to put my recipe books on there but then remember I need a particular recipe. I have used almost every book in the last year but just one or two recipes.
Still looking for an outlet for audio tapes, lots of novels, biographies and then a wide variety of music. I am thinking the recycling bins.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

If on CC can you reject the goods with the CC company? They should refund you and raise a dispute with Craghoppers? Or threaten to take them to court, claiming for your incidental costs and expenses if you've had to wait in and report failure to collect to local trading standards?
It isn't worth your stress;)

Hey everyone!
Very manic weekend (was on an intense training course for the voluntary work I do) and then a manic day as I was on a work course! On top of that I have yet another cold  thats gone to my chest this time.
Anyhow, as I have so much paperwork from said courses I think it will be levels 1 this week! I hope everyone is well, and thank you ladies for the list. (Trying to avoid the cupboard thing but it would seem I can't)
Love and hugs

All the best everyone, especially if you have a full social calendar (this never happens, I'm quite excited!)
