Washing folded and away, plant, mirrors and pictures moved from top of the stairs, kitchen floor behind wm washed, excess spag bol stored in freezer (though DH put it in the wrong type of container, bless him!), cup of redbush tea made and tucked up on the sofa with a blanket :) At least we've done something!

    Done!

Could I have a star please Toots ;)?

    Evening all :)

Penny, well done! I think you deserve another star for putting up with us all & being so lovely!

Well a successful ish evening at soft play with the support group, boys got some energy out. I spent the afternoon being more organised. I have ordered all the meds we needed, booked GP/dental/hospital appointments and booked our trip to Ayr :D:D we're going to do it in a day to save pennies, we can share the driving under 4 hours each I think it'll work out. 22nd February so means they need a day off school this time but I think it'll be worth it. So now I have all the essentials in the calendar, I can start working out where spare time is and where I can fit study time in.

It's going to be ***eeek*** over £100 for the parts we think might fix the TD, so we're going to get another one as it's always tripping the thermostat etc too. I've been looking at washer/dryer combi to save on space. Anyone got one that works well?

Oh I set a MACAW too, to stay on target with my OU work :)
One day I might be more organised...........

  • evening everybody

Nutty - you had better not tell me these things again - it was just last week you said you wouldnt go up ladders again!!! You are very very bad!!!
pigpen oh dear things are a wee bit strained then in your house tonight? have you tried methylated spirits on the pen marks - put meths on with cotton buds and replace them a lot so you are not spreading it
rach how annoying about the courier - *job extension for rach* vibes being sent - they had better know whats good for them and do it!!!!
Dorastar of course your achievement today is just as important as PenPen's - well done - be proud of what you have done - for all we know PenPen may live in a 6x6 box and it takes all of 2 mins to do!!!! you cant compare yourself - we are all different- we all live in different houses and we all lead different lives so each and every star is a milestone. ETA I see AnW's MUm has beaten me to it! wot she said too!

I have set up my own 'recycling centre' in my house -

    four green plastic boxes for:
    paper/card
    plastics
    glass
metal/aluminium (when I have discovered what kind of metals they want you to recycle :) )

Plus, my 'kitchen composter' arrived today, so there should now be next to no waste for the bin men to take on a Thursday :j

The local council supplied everyone in our village with:
1 black wheely bin for household junk
1 small box for all the stuff they want to recycle
1 big green wheely bin for garden waste (who would want to throw this away when it makes perfectly good free compost??)

They empty the black bin weekly, the green box fortnightly and the green bin monthly. I have 3/4 acre garden so the green bin is full before i finish mowing the lawns once (and i do them twice in the summer) (not that I actually throw garden waste away) and because the work I do generates so much paperwork, the green box is way too full and we are expected to put everything recyclable into it. Council has it all backwards IMO. So decided to do my own - all the boxes can be lifted into the car when I drive to town and emptied at the recycling centre in town instead of messing up my house till the bin men see fit to come around and do it for me!

Cant understand how they say they want you to recycle then give you the tiniest receptacle for doing it and thehn tell you to throw all your compostable material into another bin that they dont empty often enough . Are they really taking recycling seriously or what?
