Baby Milk Price Hike!

I agree with the OP entirely, A couple of years ago I was paying £5 a time for Farleys, they started putting a note in saying look out for our new design and hiked the price up by £3 to £8 overnight. I always knew why they had a ban on offers for early stage milks but would have loved some anyway just like I love to get them for every other product we buy. I can pay full price but don't want to. I swapped to the cheapest that week, although most weeks it was the same one, with no ill effects.
I remember joining my local NCT when my first was over four weeks old and some numpty asking me if I would like her to show me how to get 'the' child to latch on, FOUR WEEKS, I am a perfectly capable human being so why would I need help to do the most natural things in the world.
I don't feel guilty about it or need to explain to myself to anyone. Not breastfeeding my children has no effect on breastfeeding mothers lives and their breastfeeding is no concern of mine.0 -

I think it's a bit late for that. If only everyone could be a super mum like you hey :rotfl::rotfl:
I'm sure you'll be horrified to know I plan to formula feed without even trying to BF, give my child a dummy, let it cry itself to sleep with CC techniques, use disposable nappies, put it in a cot to sleep and even shock horror give it calpol!! When it grows up it will be allowed to play outside, eat mud and worms, splash in puddles, eat sweets, climb trees in their best clothes and even ride their bike with no helmet  Mother from hell hey:eek: If only I could be as perfect as you:D
You really need to get off your high horse and accept that different mothers have different opinions, and while what you're doing works for you, it doesn't work for everyone and the way you harp on about breastfeeding and mothers who don't breastfeed is insulting and cruel. It works for you, it doesn't work for everyone, just accept thatAs long as a child is happy and healthy who cares (other than you, clearly:rotfl: ) whether it's BF or FF

Oh what a surprise... formula milk is mentioned in title so how did I guess this thread would turn into a mass debate
I WILL NOT BE BREASTFEEDING (yes I can hear the tut tuts)
It shouldn't matter what my reasons are (I have good reasons) but I shouldn't be looked down upon. "Breast is best" is certainly not always the case and thankgoodness there is baby formula available nowadays.
I saw a good friend struggle with feeding her little boy and DID get loads of support from midwives, health visitors and myself.
What is most important that a baby is fed, loved etc in a way parents choose and are able to.BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -
I breastfeed my son, who will be 11 months next week.
I support others to BF where they need it.
I support others to choose not to BF where they need it, either by way of supplementing with FF or by switching entirely.
Personally, I really don't care how anybody else feeds their baby (:o) as long as mine is fed and happy but I do care about other mothers and so will seek to help and support (and not make them feel crap) however I can.
I do get upset that all use BFers (especially us longer term BFers) get tarred with the same militant brush though.
One of the big things that puts borderline women off BF (IMHO) is forceful women making sweeping statements with a toddler hanging off their nipple!
FWIW - NOBODY has a clue how many babies are BF at 6 months in this country - BECAUSE WE DON'T GET ASKED. And at my baby's 9 month check they didn't ask either. It is all made up propaganda (it could be more, it could be less).

Sarah-Jane - should we start a "super bad mummies club"?
I am sat looking at a bottle of calpol which I feel NO guilt for having given DD a dose of today because it looks like she's got 4 teeth coming through at once and obviously it's painful... I use disposable nappies because frankly I don't like paying £150+ for something I can't see before I buy and no-where round here does demo's or offers (and council doesn't either). I spend less than 8p per disposable nappy of named brands... so don't think it works out that much more expensive
I have (shock horror!) handed my baby over to a childminder and returned to work a week ago.
I let her go to sleep on her own (grinching though... not actually crying... I've been very lucky with her) in her own room in her own cot bed  and she has been since 3 months.
I have let her sit on a floor that hadn't been washed that day (call child services!) and I will let her crawl round our allotment when the weather gets drier (although I have fenced it in to stop her pillaging the surrounding allotments...) and if she finds a worm... well heck... it's organic right?DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! I was in asda earlier and I looked at the price of the smart price tissues, 46p. I remembered buying them about 5 years ago for 24p.
Everything has went up in price!
I'm finding boots cheapest for formula just now, we're using SMA 6month plus (still on 2 for £12 in boots).
And you know what? I don't care how you feed your baby, so long as it's getting fed. In this world there are bigger issues.0 -

Oooo yes calpol:j
I'm going to feed my baby calpol instead of formula/breast milk;) Lovely stuff!:D
I am only joking.BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120
