    Afternoon folks

Happy Birthday Jackie - hope you have a lovely day.

Pen pin - Sorry to hear about your FiL (((Hugs))) to you and yours. Good luck to DD

Good luck to Mr Hester for tomorrow also

Thank you all for the messages of support yest. Hubbie has been dreadfully upset. I think it is a build of of losing MiL 9 months ago and FiL the year before that. He seems to have come to terms with it better today thank goodness. It is very quiet here without our little dog tip tapping around. She will be sorely missed.

Today has been a day of tidying and cooking. We have just had roast chicken with all the trimmings. I am going to do some knitting this afternoon, it is my last class on Tuesday and I started a chunky cardigan last week and want to try to have all the major bits done before Tuesday so that they can show me the complcated bits of picking up stitches for the borders and sewing up and the neckline etc.

Hope you all have a peaceful and happy day

Thanks again for the support - it was really appreciated.

I popped out to the library, got 4 new books and a travel guide to Italy as I'm contemplating going there this year. Called into my parents to collect my post and have a cuppa. My Dad gave me £20 cos my nan (his mum) gave him £100 and he wanted to share it with us :D so this has gone into my travel funds. Then went to Matalan and bought a new coat, which I'm not 100% sold on yet but it was only one left in my size so thought I'd better get it and can always return it later!

I've just made a quick veggie roast dinner and scoffed that :) I also made some HM celery soup as the celery was looking a tad wilted in the fridge!

I had a very sweet phone call off my brother earlier :A We were close as kids but not as much so since we both left home. He had a girlfriend for 3 years who was a bad influence on him (not that he is an angel mind!) and who no-one really liked. When he was with her he very rarely visited (he lives in Bristol). But they split up end of last year and since then he has become a much nicer person to be around. Anyway he rung me to check I was ok because he throught I sounded a bit down by my Facebook status!! My facebook status just says "....gutted" which I put on there yesterday straight after we lost the rugby. Now almost everyone I knew who was Welsh had a similar status, plus 3 people had left rugby-esque comments on it too, so no idea why he misinterpreted it!! :rotfl: But it was lovely to know that he cared :D

I'm going to chill on the sofa with a cheesy movie and a magazine now. I may order a chinese tonight but probably will just have something from the cupboards/freezer.

    Have a good evening all

I'm totally worn out tonight after my extra activity today :D

I won't be using that much energy again in a while :rotfl:

Ah well. Dinner's done. Dishes are done and I can rest for the evening :)

  • HI again all

Just catching up on todays posts after being VERY lazy today .... !

Sunnygirl - so pleased you had a bit of a pampering day yesterday and are feeling brighter today .

JackieO - sorry I forgot to wish you Happy Birthday earlier, sounds likeyou are having a lovely day and wow at all those lovely and kind gifts.

redruby - great news to hear that you are getting winged visitors to the garden, sadly with 7 cats we daren't try and welcome any into our garden.... ! Wow that bacon was a bargain.

Natlie - how's the soup? I am planning to make that soup this week for the first time.

csarina - I love hearing all about your unpacking !

Cranky - well done on the batch of pasta bake, hope the shopping trip went OK !

Penny Pincher - I am so sorry to hear about your FIL.... at least he is in peace now ... sending some ((((hugs)))) your way.

purpleivy - sounds like you have had a productive weekend.

Bitsy - thats fab about the kids sleeping through and the lie in , a better start to the day for you. Thank you ever so much for the link to the cake, I thought it was going to be ever so difficult but its looks pretty straightforward and very yummy too.

Pippa.S - its been so cold here too, we lit the fire and that was it , too cosy to go out then.

NPM - what the kiddies are cooking for the parents tomorrow sounds lovely, hope your OH enjoys it and that your son copes with the change to his normal mondya routine.

Pipkin - the young carers group sounds a nice activity for the girls. Butter crunch biccies sound sooooo yummy , I know I am always asking for recipes but if you dont mind me asking please could you post one , I love the shop bought ones so I can imagine hm must be divine. WD for getting all the Chinese stuff sorted out for Tuesday, looking forward to hearing about the day.
Thanks again for your kind words, I think homeschooling would have really suited DD , I have read so much about it and try not to feel guilty about keeping her in the school system but felt I wasdoing the best for her socially ... I reallyknow thats not the case now and most probably the social anxieties she has (partly due to school bullying) would have been avoided.....
I really hope you manage to start the anime group I bet it will be really popular.

Anguk - thats fantastic about Martyn getting mobile today, sorry to hear about the other issues.... hope they right themselves naturally soon.

Molly - so sorry to hear that you are having a bad day ... sending (((hugs))) your way too.

Phew , all caught up again, although we have been lazy today it has been quite nice. Before DD was up me and DH sat down together and had a good old chat about money and life in general , we dont often have those sorts of chats so it was nice. DD decided to spend the afternoon lazing around with us two , it was good all being together with the fire burning away , each doing our own thing but still together, oh and eating some of the chocolate left from Christmas. I spent most of the time sorting out some craft stuff that I will be sending to a craft sale next month, I just have soooooooooo much card makiing and scrapbooking that I just dont need, so have got quite a pile of stuff to price and label up, I made £40 at the last sale and will have lots more stuff for this time so the money will come in handy.

Off to finish dinner - cheesy mash, sausages, garlic mushrooms, onions and peas. Didnt do the planned baking as we realised that we still have quite a bit of DD's birthday cake to eat so will wait till thats gone before making anything.

Hope everyone has a nice Sunday evening. x
  • Hi Guys :0)
OK i have now come to the point that i can't hide any more!
I have pretended for too long that i'm fine and coping with the fact my husband left me with 4 children!
I'm a mess, (the kids are fine((i hope)) and we are making the best of things....but without his salary im struggling.
My dad has had to take me food shopping this week (and pay for it) I feel i am heading for rock bottom! i know my father can afford it but the guilt of having to spend his money is now making me lose sleep at night.
God reading this back i sound so chav/desperate/you know what im not even sure what i come across as.
Not sure where to go from here. Don't need any replies, just feel i need to vent!..... Tomorrow is another day and i'm sure i will feel different then :0)
I will save my tesco £1 savings stamps this year! .......so far = £50 (full card#1)
Card #2 £6. I will not be skint at Chistmas this year!
