Morning all..................Hugs if you need one...............
We had a well deserved lie in this morning, thankfully apart from odd bits and pieces we are unpacked, 80 boxes collapsed down in the shed. I have put them on freecycle but if no one calls for them they are going to the tip this week.
I am sure you are all fed up with me whittering on about the chaos whilst we unpacked.!!!!
Tomorrow the coal man commeth with 2 bags of coal to boost the fire and clean the deposits on the woodburner....its actually a multifuel stove which means you can burn either wood or coal or a mixture on it, which is what we will be doing in the coldest months of the wiinter.
Plans for today, nowt really, I might just put up the shelf unit in the bathroom to tidy it up and maybe the plate racks in the kitchen to get the chicken china up off the work surface...........
Pork chops for supper tonight with roasties and veg, might have some more of the meranguie with raspberries and cream for dessert.
A bit of a dull day really cannot see the traffic on the road 2 fields away and Traprain Law is also lurking somewhere in the mist, it may clear up later.
This time last week we were looking forward to our move, and whilst it was not such an easy one as the last one we made we are here, only 1 glass broken by the movers, so cannot complain really. Things will still be a bit disjointed till DS2 comes up, but we can close the door in the second bedroom and pretend its not there!!!Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0

Morning all , sorry not to have posted for a few days , Friday was mega busy with work, MS jobs (fortunately one of them was a Dominos pizza delivery so didnt have to cook!) and yesterday we were out most of the day , again more MS jobs then visiting various supermarkets to pick up good buys , dont really need much shopping this week but wanted to stock up on some offers finishing soon. Then home for some much needed housework.
Today will be easier, will do just essential cleaning I think, WM is on , DH is out with the dogs and we'll have BLT pittas when he gets back. Am really going to try and get some baking done today, I keep having these big plans but nothing materialises ! Tea is sausages and something , DH didnt want 'another SC' meal and DD has YS'd pasta bake. We tend to have a roast meal in the week now as we are nearly always out on a Sunday, maybe we will pop out today , one of the local NT properties has opened its 'snowdrop walk through the woods' from this weekend so that would be lovely , we will see when DD decides to get up !
n9eav - hope you had a good party day yesterday !
redruby - I live in Dorset , not far from Poole.
Hester - hope DH's new job goes well
Bitsy - sorry to hear about the anaemia, what with that on top of your little ones waking you up in the night/early.....hope you manage to increase your iron intake. Mmmmm the pear and almond cake sounds yummy, will look up a recipe for that , thanks for posting the orange muffins one , sounds YUM too !
churchmouse - sounds like you had a lovely birthday and lots of nice goodies !
nmlc -well done on the weight loss the other day , thats FAB ! Wow just reading about all your cleaning etc has worn me out !
Pipkin - thanks for your kind words about DD/school, really pleased that she went happily again on Friday .... will be having a few words tomorrow (school review meeting) and a stern letter to Ed Welfare after a letter received yesterday.... hmmmm wont bore you with the details but suffice to say I so wish I had known about homeschooling at the right time .... we have always been very open and communicative and worked with everyone to help our DD overcome her school problems ... right will shut up now !
My DD is a little 'quirky'/eclectic (not sure of the right words really (brain not working..) but they sound right!) and I think anime and all things Japanese certainly appeals to those similar.
JackieO - sounds like you had a lovely evening out with your DD's, well done on getting the essay finished.
taplady - so sorry to hear about your aunt.... Wow 32 hours over 3 days , thats a lot , but your evening with work last night sounded lovely.
nic1lou2 - so sorry to hear about your lovely doggie and that was really nice that the vet came out sothat you didnt have the trip to them.... I had the decision to make with one of my cats a couple of years ago when she was nearly 19 , she had had a tough day and I just knew that the time had come....that drive to the vets was so difficult as she really perked up and purred all the way there...still we know we did the right thing, Maddie was cremated and her ashes are in a casket in the lounge near to where she used to lay where the sun shone in .... thats so lovely to read that your darling dog's resting place is somewhere familiar and where she used to lay as well. Really thinking of you as I know how difficult it is losing such a loved pet, its made mevery emotional typing about Maddie even now its a few years on... xx
thriftlady - happy birthday to DS !
Molly - sorry to hear youre not feeling up to going to your friends party, am sure you would have been missed... Sorry to to hear about your DS problems, hope they sort themselves out soon.
Sunnyday - will remember your tip about the dog towels !
Snoozer - glad the biopsy went OK but sorry to hear that your mum has to have another op...
anguk - wow such fantastic news about Martyn , absolutely brilliant ! Sorry to hear about the possible migraine , I am lucky and only get them rarely, maybe one every year or two and like you they are due to a build up of stress.
Noahspenilessmummy - the lime and coconut cupcakes sound gorgeous , will try and find a recipe for them or may have to ask you if you dont mind !
Hoping that everyone has a good day, take care . x0

            Good morning guys, Jackie-O - have a great day.xxx Jackie-O - have a great day.xxx
Cold but beautifully sunny today, I am going to drag all of our carcasses out for a walk after lunch up the so called bogey lane and then up on to the hills.
Today's wash is done, I will do the usual swish and swipe tonight when the kids are up and I am going to throw a chicken in the oven shortly for tea so it will be cooked before we go and I think we will have chips, stuffing, peas and gravy with it which I will prep before we go. The kids can have some bacon sandwiches for lunch and I will have some fruit.
We have an extra body today as one of DS1's friends stayed over and they were up until 11 and he will probably tag along after lunch if his mum is OK with that.
Not much else to report really...
Anguk - wonderful news. :T:T
Gentle hugs to Nic, Lowesy, pen-pin and anyone else in need. xxxx
Have a good day everyone,
Smoky. xxxxIf you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape 100 days of sorrow.......Chinese proverb

            Good morning,
Happy Birthday Jackie O
So far this morning, I have made 8 portions of pasta bake. I am attempting to turn some of the ingredients in the freezer into real food. I also have a chicken to go in later when we're back home that can be portioned up and frozen once it's cooked. It makes easy dinners for us. The house elf came into the kitchen sniffing like the Bisto kid while the pasta bakes were cooking. He had cookies and milk at 5:15 when he woke up, scotch pancakes at 7:30am, and had to have a mini pizza at 9:30am to fill a little space that had crept in.
I weighed the elf this morning, and he has put 4lbs on since November (still only weighs 2 stone 8 lbs at 5 years old). I can only assume that getting up at 4:30-5am in the morning is giving him some extra eating time. I have also picked up the cardboard from the box that the cat chewed, which was all over the hall. At least if she's chewing boxes she's leaving something else alone!
I'm taking Grumpy to Chester today as I could really do with some new clothes for when I go back to work on Tuesday. I can't imagine it will be a majorly successful shopping trip taking him with me, but at least it will be an outing.
Take care all of you0

            Hi Guys!
FIL lost his fight on Friday night. OH was there when he went. Although it was expected, it all seems very surreal. It was all very peaceful and he isnt suffering anymore, but he will be sorely missed. We all broke down when they took him away. I can honestly say it was the worst experiance I have ever had to deal. Its been a manic and grim weekend!
DD has her interview in the morning for her work experiance, so OH taking her up London for that. She has been very quiet over the weekend and asked if she could go to her friends today, so she is there atm.
Twink-Thanks for the letter. You're a star!
If I have missed anything, then please accept my apologies.
Hugs to all.

Cranky Chester is nice for a day out. I go shopping there myself sometimes.
Morning all. Going to ALdi in a minute for usual Sunday dash. Milk, bananas and whatever is on supersix. DS back from music weekend away later, so MIL coming to concert with me then back to do some ironing for me and to have a meal.
Overcatered in veg as usual, so made a really nice tray of roast veg last night, sprinkled with normal blend I used for wedges, but added caribbean style curry powder. potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, onions. Then some broccoli and gravy with the left over chicken. Some left so ds can have that for pack up tomorrow.
I decided Sunday meal should be easy, so last week did prawns, new potatoes and Salad, week before was pasta almost carbonara style, so will do that again this week, goats cheeese to use up, bacon and some sundried toms. Need to do a pud really, but not sure what.
Got some stuff done yesterday, hemmed dd's jeans and got sewing things all put back in their normal place.
Filed a lot of paperwork and cleard out some old bills etc. Paid off the credit card that we had done a transfer to when things were a bit tight. That feels good! Got a bit of spare now, so will be able to pay for dh's trip to Bolivia trekking later in the year and hoping to pay some off the mortgage. It's 25 years next year since we first took out the mortgage. It's gone up and down over the years with housemoves and paying the odd bit off. In reality we won't have it paid off next year, as the endowment is inadequate, so trying to muster what funds we can in the meanwhile.
Well, none of that sounds very exciting, does it? Well to be frank, I find that I can live without excitement mosst of the time. I still have to plan a holiday for Meeeee. DH will need a good three weeeks for the Bolivia trip. I will obv have to go at a different time and consider what the possibilities are.
Hpoe you all ahve a peaceful sunday."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
