Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Sunday 7th February. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.

Where is everyone this morning? :D

DD has hockey this morning, DH will take her whilst I continue to fight the losing battle that is............... cleaning my house :(

Breakfast will be cereal, need to put a loaf in the BM for lunch, beans on toast. Dinner tonight will be roast lamb and all the trimmings

Anguk - so glad Martyn is improving

Churchie - belated birthday wishes

Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

    Good morning!

It is quiet today, I hope that everyone is having a nice lie in biggrin.gif

I took advice yesterday & had a very lazy day pampering myself so I'm feeling much better & more relaxed today.

I cooked a massive piece of gammon in the slow cooker last night so that's for lunch along with the usual suspects of roast potatoes, carrots, peas, yorkshire puds & gravy. There'll be enough left for two more meals so I'll portion it up and freeze it after lunch.

Tea will be cheese, crackers & fruit so nice & easy.

world.gif for anyone who needs them, I'll go and catch up on yesterdays thread now.

Have a nice Sunday whatever you're doing xx

    Good Morning you lot.

    :j:j:beer:Happy Birthday JackieO - have a fantastic day :beer::j:j

It is quiet this morning, where are you MSD? Guess N9eav is recovering from his party.

Have been starting to put stuff on my new laptop - so far have done AVG and Itunes, its a very slow process :o but have sorted out 2 drawers in my office which is long overdue :rotfl:reckon 5% of my office is done......baby steps as they say.

Ended up having quite a restful day yesterday as had a wicked headache. Watched Ryans Daughter and dozed on the settee so no excuses today.

Will finish loading up the laptop thoughout the day, get all the uniforms sorted for tomorrow and cook roast chicken for dinner tonight.

Must do a menu plan and online shop later. Waiting for kids to get up (lazy beggers) so they can contribute.

Off now to make another coffee and jump in the bath, have a lovely Sunday all.x

HSbirthday_surprise_smiley.gif Birthday wishes Jackie-O - hope your girlies have worked out a lovely day for you.

Had a lie in this morning, couldn't be bothered to get out of bed. Beef in the SC today. The cloud promised for today has decided it couldn't get out of bed either so not complaining.

Trying to find the energy to tackle the ironing, but going for a walk is appealling more.

hug.gif to those who'd like one

    Take care - DG

  • Morning all!

    Quiet today!

WM is just about to finish, and I need to put BM on today at some point. Need to put away yesterday's laundry but that's about it for me OS wise.

It's grey and damp looking outside today. I'm just deciding what to do today. I want to go to library, and to pick up my post from my parents. I also want to pop to Matalan to see if they have any outdoor jackets in stock as they are out of stock on website. But I've contacted a woman on Freecycle who was advertising a spice rack (which I need) so if I'm successful I may need to go collect it, and it's the complete opposite direction to everything else! So I'll give her til lunch to reply and if not then I'll go out.

I think I'll make a veggie roast tonight as I'm fancying some roast potatoes.

    Have a good day all

    ps Happy birthday JackieO!

:bdaycake:Happy Birthday to JackieO, enjoy the surprise that your dd's are planning.

All quiet here OH gone to the boot sale, and dd still in bed, so enjoying the peace, wm is on with dd's dark uniform, it came home from her sleepover in a crumpled heap in the bottom of her bag.

Got the final bits done in the conservatory yesterday, and went and collected the oak table which my sister had given us, it had been stored in a container and mould had started to grow on it _pale_, so I made up a weak bleach solution and washed it all down in the garden, then washed it again with wood cleaner, it looks a lot better now, but its too much wood in there, so I need to get a rug to break it up a bit.

Dinner today will be roast pork, roasties sprouts, cabbage and cauli, will do it for this evening as dd is seeing her dad.

OH and I have a load of stuff to take to the tip, and I might have a quick look in matalan and see if they have a rug.

Yesterday I bought some new bird feeders, (we left the old ones at the old house to encourage the new woman to feed the birds) and I hung them on the hedge in the back garden, this morning I have seen a blue t i t on them :T, I think the others will follow now.
I also managed to pick up three packets of bacon reduced to 30p each :T, so two have gone in the freezer, we had bacon sandwiches for lunch yesterday, and I will do bacon and mushroom for brunch today.

Nic, hope you are ok today xx

    Have good days all xx
  • Good morning!

    Hi
I managed to clean the living room yesterday but in doing so moved all the clean clothes upstairs but haven't put them away yet - have a mountain of washing to do and the kitchen is a disaster. Need to clean that before I set to work making spiced carrot soup for lunch for the week (loads of carrots in the fridge) and cooking chicken for dinner tonight. Will put loaf in BM and need to have a sort out in the fridge.
