Glad to hear your husband is improving angukaplaceinthesun wrote: »Pipkin - thanks for your kind words about DD/school, really pleased that she went happily again on Friday .... will be having a few words tomorrow (school review meeting) and a stern letter to Ed Welfare after a letter received yesterday.... hmmmm wont bore you with the details but suffice to say I so wish I had known about homeschooling at the right time .... we have always been very open and communicative and worked with everyone to help our DD overcome her school problems ... right will shut up now !
My DD is a little 'quirky'/eclectic (not sure of the right words really (brain not working..) but they sound right!) and I think anime and all things Japanese certainly appeals to those similar.[/QUOTE]
Hope the words with the school go ok, aplaceinthesun, and that your DD will remain happy during the rest of her time in school.
My girls love anime so I'm trying to set up an anime art session for a group of home-edders. There are so many who enjoy that sort of thing
I have a contact, so it's just a matter of emailing andsetting a date ect.
So very sorry to hear about your loss PP
I'm glad it was peaceful.
Hope you're ok MSD

Happy birthday JackieO! Have a great day :bdaycake:
DH and I are STILL living with the in-laws, but our house is coming along quite nicely and should be painted etc within the next couple of weeks. Our sofas have arrived and DH and FIL are round there now painting everything. I've been tasked with interior design - ie sorting out curtains. I've looked in our local charity shops, but haven't found any that are wide enough and/or long enough. However, I've found some readymade in M&S so I'll be checking them out properly and then endeavouring to get them on the internet via www.topcashback.co.uk
Even though we've been cooking here, it just hasn't been the same as being in our own house. There's been alot more shop bought soups and pasta sauces than I normally like, but I'm looking forward soooo much to being able to batch cook once more and put things in the freezer. I never appreciated how much I rely on my freezer......
Have a good day everyone

Good afternoon chums and than you all for your lovely birthday wishes
nelski Honey you are a star, and I will take good care of both items;):D:D
I have been very spoilt so far today, I have had so many cards and presents, and I still haven't seen my youngest DD and tribe yet.
Eldest DD has got me a box in April to see the Jersey Boys with her, plus a slap-up meal at my restraunt of choice in London, plus a trip to Paris in March on the Eurostar, plus two gorgeous framed photos .One of my gorgeous grandson Danny & his sister Holly when they were in New York last year, and one of our meal out last Thursday with my two smashing daughters and I blowing out some candles. I have had lots of Boots vouchers and some M&S vouchers and a cheque and even a tenner from a friend of a friend bless her who had been so supportive when I was having my chemo.I am a very lucky lady to have so many lovely friends and be so blessed. My nephews sent me a huge bunch of flowers, and another friend sent me a card with an IOU for some new special files that I want for my computer room when its finished. I have my pal June returning this Wednesday to finish off my little study and I am so pleased as it looks a totally different room altogether.
I finished my essay last night completely and it goes in tomorrow so today I am having the day off from doing everything .I'm not going to look at the ironing or any hoovering today tomorrow is another day.
Thanks once again for all your good wishes
Love to you all :A

Hugs to PP, sorry to hear about your FIL.
Happy Birthday JackieO!
Martyn is continuing to improve, they removed his nasal feeding tube (he's eating now) & other drips yesterday so he is now drip-free for the first time in a few weeks! :j
It means he can move about a bit easier and the nurse is going to walk him down to the WRVS shop this afternoon for a little exercise. It'll be the first time he's walked in over a week so I've told him to take it easy with little baby steps but I doubt he'll listen, he's over the moon that he's been able to stick his false leg on!
(he's a below knee amputee).
Still no signs of his waterworks getting back to normal though so they've had to use the dreaded catheter, he's producing pee but not getting rid of it in the normal way. They think it could be due to the peritonitis, or intensive care or dialysis, he's not emptied the other end either so they think he may just be a bit bunged up.
(sorry if TMI) It's been about 14 days now so I think they're going to wait a few more days then if there's no "movement" either way they'll do a scan or xray.
I haven't done much today, a bit of washing & the dishes but I've had to wave DS off.
He's going back down to London now that Martyn is on the mend, he's been my rock this last week and it's made me realise that my little boy is now grown up into a big, fine man.
DD has gone to the Metrocentre (my idea of hell) with her friends for a girlie day out. She hasn't seen them all week and it'll do her good to have a day without worrying about her Dad or hospital. She's going back to school tomorrow so hopefully we can start and get back to some sort of routine. It's been a stressful 3 weeks and I can't wait for Martyn to come home so we can get back to normality.
Have a good day and hugs to anyone who wants one. xxDum Spiro Spero0 -

Happy Birthday JackieO - Have a lovely day :bdaycake:
Well its really dark and a bit foggy here, not as cold as it has been lately but still a nip in the air.
MPM/Sistercas - according to this site its not until later in the week and then only sleet. It usually changes the forecast every day though so i shall keep an eye on it. http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/7days.asp?zipcode=sheffield
Niclou - Oh i`m so sorry to hear your sad news. ((((HUGS)))) for you and your family. You will have lots of happy times to remember with your dear doggie. Afternoon all
Hugs to PP, sorry to hear about FIL.
Happy Birthday JackieO, glad you've had a good time.
So far today I've done some ironing, WM & DW have both been on, hubby is driving me up the wall, pacing the floor & checking & re-checking his bag & documents & altenately snapping at me & apologising to me, poor sod, lol.
We will be having roast gammon & turkey, I only have a little bit of both left, with roast pots, roast parsnips, cauli, peas & spring greens, yorkies & gravy.
Have a good Sunday everyone.
Hugs Hester

Hi Guys,
Hope that your day is going ok.
Hester - good luck to your husband for tomorrow
PP - so sorry to hear about your FIL. Good luck to your DD tomorrow.
Happy Birthday jackie
I have retired to my bed and dont think Im going to set my wobbly feet out of the bedroom until tomorrow. I have upset my kids and their dad and they have upset me. I was trying to fill out my pension forms and ESA forms but it so depresses me writing down everything I now cannot do that I ended up in tears on several occasions. I have given up for now and may try again tomorrow. So there has been no OS and as a consequence the house is a mess.
Oh well tomorrow is another day xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
JackieO - sounds like you've had a lovely day already. Happy Birthday.
Pen-pin - so sorry to hear about FIL.
Made marble cake yesterday, very simple and extremely nice. Having real trouble getting back on my diet, and baking doesn't help as I can't resist the temptation!
Beds stripped and changed, kids have hoovered their rooms, I need to do stairs which is a job I hate.
Bitsy - glad you got a lie in!0
