I don't get it when people say "excuse me" when they sneeze - well, unless you've just sneezed all over someone I guess
I can think of much worse... erm... 'exercising' of bodily functions that do need excusing, lol! Not by me, I might add - after all, girls don't do that sort of thing...0 -

A few years ago a friend of mines father died really sudenly.
When she told me I said " OMG you are joking "
"Well no !" was the reply.
Still cringe when I think about it !

Reminded me of when I went to funeral and afterward I didn't really feel like being in the house and I wanted something to take my mind off it. So me and ex went to go and see Prince Caspian. As you do. When we bought the tickets the guy at the desk said "you must be the most well dressed people coming to see a film I've ever seen". When I mentioned we'd been to a funeral I've never seen someone look like they wanted the ground to swallow them up so much! He kept apologising, even though I said it's okay, he wasn't to know. It's a good job the conversation ended there, if he'd asked who it was I don't think I'd have had the heart to tell him it was my father.
....and please don't flame me for going to the piccies after my dad's funeral, I'd had a fair bit of wine and didn't want to drink myself up in grief so needed a diversion. Unlike my bro who got absolutely sh*tfaced.Do good deeds and you could raise the curtain, do good deeds and you could really raise your life....0 -
I've just remembered something my mum told me yesterday. On the Wednesday I mentioned a program at school where you answered questions and it told you your ideal job. Kudos I think it was called; and that everyone always had "undertaker" on the list.
Mum then told her workmate about this yesterday, except instead of saying "everyone was told they'd be an undertaker", she said "everyone was told they'd be underwear!" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Do good deeds and you could raise the curtain, do good deeds and you could really raise your life....0 -
I was very cross with an ex of mine once and accused him of having double standards.
'What's wrong with that?' was his response, 'Just means I've got twice as many as everyone else'.

What's the difference?
Translating idioms into another language can be good. My German penpal always ended every letter encouraging me to 'Keep my ears stiff'."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
