  • Reading this reminds me of a stupid thing I once came out with...

I was on holiday in Bangkok, vaguely watching the TV, when an advert for a Black Eyed Peas concert came on, with the text "the Black Eyed Peas live in Bangkok" running across the bottom of the screen, so I say to my friend "Did you know the Black Eyed Peas live in Bangkok" as soon as I had finished the sentence I realised what i'd said :embarasse

I know it's not quite the same as the other ones, but my colleagues and I find it hilarious when people ask if we sell "FreeSTAT" I don't know where they get the extra T from when trying to say Freesat.

    On holiday with the in-laws.

"Does this Cream Tea come with tea?"
  • Oh rats. Talking of doing stupid things.... I was walking up the road with BF once, and saw a really cute little black kitten. Chirrupped at it for a while, trying to tempt it over, but - after about 5 minutes of this malarkey - realised to my horror that it was in fact one of those flat cat-onna-stick things you can get to scare other cats away from your garden. Turned to BF and said "It's obviously too shy, come on, let's get home". Walked 5 minutes up the road, BF turns to me and says "do you really think you're going to get away with that?" big smirk all over his face. We-ell, I was KIND of hoping yes? No chance! Doh.

The one that bugs me is when I'm in work and I answer the phone and someone asks to speak to one of my colleagues. If the line is engaged quite often the usual response is "well how long will they be?" How the hell am I supposed to know how long they are going to be on the phone?!

I got into trouble once when I responded - "How long's a piece of string?".

Said in a mildly amused tone of voice - they reported me to my manager and I got my wrists slapped:o
Light travels faster than sound - that's why you can see someone who looks bright until they open their mouth.

My FIL in Spain many years ago decided (in perfect seriousness) that the locals would understand him if he put an 'o' on the end of every word. "cupo teao" he said. And he got it!!
