    Morning all :)
Had second gym induction last night, and quite enjoyed it :) We're going back on Sunday to get personalised exercise programs set up.

Weighed in this morning, 1lb off this week, which takes me back to 4.5lb lost since the start of the challenge. hopefully I'll be able to register a bigger loss next week, I'm hoping all this exercise will start to kick in!

    Today's meals:
    Breakfast: Fruit corner
Lunch: RF cheese sandwich on granary wholemeal bread, red onion chutney and rocket, satsumas
Dinner: Chicken satay and noodle salad, bottle of lager (well it is Friday!)

    Exercise: swimming

We're going out for dinner on Monday with a friend who's visiting, so am going to try and keep to plan strictly over the weekend. Shouldn't be too hard, although we do have friends coming over on Saturday for dinner. I'll have to think of something tasty but secretly low fat to feed them ;) or venture to step ( my legs have only just stopped hurting!) on Saturday morning to make up for the wine calories in the evening :rotfl:

    Morning all.

That creaking noise you can hear is me climbing back on the wagon again after an onion bhaji-related tumble last night. (Note to self - don't buy onion bhajis as they just get eaten. All in one go. :o:o:o) Not surprisingly the scales show a small gain today - I've got one more week to go and I really must be good as I want to lose at least a little bit more before I stop for the year.

Today probably won't help as it's very carb-heavy - not intentionally, it's just bad planning on my part:

B - seedy roll with peanut butter and a banana (I really wanted porridge but forgot to buy milk yesterday )
S - pack of mixed dried fruit
L - seedy roll with RF hummus; probably some cup soup as I'm feeling very sniffly and chilly today :o
    S - apple
D - pizza; avocado and HG tomato salad

Then possibly a mug of hot honey, lemon and whisky - the only good thing about having a cold. ;)

Exercise - I'll have to go out at lunchtime to get some more paracetamol for my sniffles, so I'll go the long way round to get at least a bit of exercise.

    Have a good day, all.
Back after a very long break!
  • I've started using this App on my blackberry (free to join up) called "My Fitness Pal" been using it 4 weeks and have lost 9ilb in weight. You basically put in your details of weight height age and target weight. it then gives you a Calorie Goal and you need to stick to it. If you Excersize say clean, walk etc just put in how long for and it gives you calories burnt and you can eat these extra calories back. When I first Started MYfitnessPal I was 13stone7 I am now 12 Stone 12.

Good morning all! Happy Friday :D
1st of all, congratulations to little moog, Molly 41 [and anyone else I have missed] on their weight loss.
I have weighed myself this morning, have lost another 2 pounds. Best of all, my BMI is 29.87 which means I am no longer obese :j. I am really over the moon, it is the 1st time in about 8 years that I can say that. Anyway, I have another 2 stones to go [approximate] until I am within my normal health range.
    my meal plan -
    B -fruit and fibre
    L- falafel, salad
    D - cheese omelette, peas
snacks - fruit, yoghurt, nuts. Maybe some crisps or a cake as it is Friday.
I have already been for a swim and walked there and back. Next week is half term and I have to care for my daughter who has special needs, so won't be able to swim properly. I will take her though. I am just going to aim not to gain any weight next week, any loss will be a bonus.
    Enjoy the weekend everyone.

fab weight losses guys, well done :) I am kind of glad I don't have any scales as I won't be able to see the damage I have done to myself this week! Am feeling much more human today though and as of 11.11am am on plan!!

B: boiled eggs and ryvita, scrape of marg
L: HM tomato n veg soup, prob a couple more ryvita as out of rolls
D: Roast pork, veggies, boiled potatoes and NO naughty extras like crackling or yorkie puds or stuffing or apple sauce... yeah who am I kidding?!
    Snack: mullerlites
Trying very hard to be frugal and OS - just plodding on and doing my best!

Well done on the losses everyone! I will update the list later. I had an argument with my scales this morning - they said I have GAINED 2.4lb... I say they are going crazy... I may have to take out the batteries, replace them, turn the scales upside down for a while, put them in the freezer for half an hour and then try again tomorrow...

Rosewood - 51lb this year? That's fabulous, well done you! :T

Despite my argument with scales this morning I have had a huge boost today that made me feel much better about it. It was DS2's assembly today and afterwards the PTA did tea and cakes (to lure us in!). One of the PTA mums (who is also assistant pharmacist at my Doctors') came over and said how fabulous I'm looking and how well I've done to lose so much weight while on my meds (I have under-active thyroid, but I don't use it as an excuse!). So that made me feel really good and helped me see the bigger picture. While the scales may not show a loss every week I have still come a long way and I should be proud of myself... I could easily have let myself keep getting bigger (especially after late miscarriage last year, comfort eating would have been forgiven!) but I took up exercising and really have put a lot of effort into the weight loss (despite the odd week/weekend off!). I am going to allow myself a little pat on the back and a feel good moment, rather than stressing about not losing this week, not losing while hormonal (about half the month for me!) etc.

Sorry for that self-indulgent post :o hoping I can inspire others and spread the motivation around a bit :D

Well done JBD on dropping below 30 on the BMI scale! I'm currently at 32.95, and hoping to get below 30 by end of January. If I achieve my Christmas challenge target I'll only be 3lb away...

Well done Ragz you have a great attitude. I agree, it's up to the individual to do as much as we can to overcome our problems and not make excuses. I'm sure all your hard work will pay off.
Could I join the Christmas challenge also? I would like to lose another 7 llbs by then.
    Thank you.

Thanks JBD. Well done on getting out of the Obese category, that's a huge achievement already and a great benefit to your health too. Of course you can join the Christmas challenge, I will add you to the list when I post it later. 9 weeks to go so I am sure you'll manage 7lb by then.

The Dragon Well done to you to. 2 stone lost already, that's fabulous :T

If anyone else wants to join do let me know, still 9 weeks to go so plenty of time to lose a little :)

Still quite a few people MIA, I am especially concerned for Ida Notion as she was giving up smoking... hopefully not currently imprisoned for nicotine-withdrawal-induced manslaughter ;)
