i'm really really struggling :/ it's sooooooo cold even inside that all I want is lots of hot buttered toast and stodge. Not helped by the fact that I am skint and having to eat more carbs than I would like as they are whats here and need using

Suppose even on "bad" days I should be taking ownership of what I have consumed so here goes so far...

    bowl porridge,
    4 slices toast n marg,
    2 tuna mayo tortilla wraps.
ETA piece of HM carrot cake

Got mince/veg/gravy and tatties for tea. and got a ginger loaf cake out of the freezer supposedly for boyf to take to work tomorrow but I know some at least will be noshed tonight.

Well had an awful day yesterday but dredged up some will power today and so far so good. One of the newcommers was talking recently about breaking a sugar addiction and I know exactly what she means, if i eat a biscuit every day after lunch then I come to expect that biscuit and "need" it and start "needing" other sugar fixes. Breaking this takes a few days and a bit of will power rather than going the whole cut back on carbs route but I can understand those who find it helps.

We finaly got back to the gym on Monday and I feel better for it if only for the stretching routine I use and the rowing, I really like that.

One thing a dog is good for is getting out whtever the weather and I have been out in some atrocious weather recently, nevermind its all good for me! Harry doesn't seem to mind being soaked

    Morning all.

    My day today goes:

B - LF cereal flakes with SS milk (not my usual choice but I'm doing a product trial ;))
    S - banana
L - seedy WM roll with RF hummus; HM spicy tomato soup (possibly - it was a bit salty when I tried it last night so I'm not sure if it will get eaten or not :()
    S - portion of pineapple
D - veg and bean curry with a naan bread

This evening - a couple of drinks at the pub quiz

Exercise - a walk at lunchtime, and another to the pub (and possibly back again, although I might be lazy and get a taxi :o)

    Have a good day, all.
Back after a very long break!

    Morning all :)
Still in agony from step on Tuesday, my pilates class was made twice as hard last night!

I downloaded a new app on my phone last night - My Fitness Pal. I've been using foodfocus to track my calories, but this is so much better. much smoother interface, faster to find and log calories.

    Today's meals:
Breakfast: porridge made with half ss milk/water, 2 tsp brown sugar
Lunch: rocket and RF houmous wrap, satsumas
    Snack: nature valley granola bar
Dinner: NCG carrot and coriander soup, tiger roll, jelly (99cal)

Exercise: gym induction 2, after which I think there's one more appointment to get a personalised workout set up

littlemoog, how do these things work in relation to making meals from scratch, is it just prepackaged/processed food they have values on for?

    hi trixie,
You tell it what you weigh, what your target is and what rate you want to lose at (up to 2lb/week), and it calculates your daily calorie requirement. If you enter exercise you get extra calories to use.

There's a huge database of pre-packed/branded foods, but also calories for basic ingredients. There's also a section where you can enter and save your own recipes, and you can see/use the ones other people have entered too. It's quite quick to use once you get started - as I've transferred from a similar website (foodfocus, although database and interface not as good) so I'm not new to it. There's a website and app that work together, for all smartphone types (I have an android phone, but I saw on the website that they do iphone, windows phone and blackberry apps). I transferred all my data since Sunday to it in about 20 minutes.
