LittleMoog - you're the second person to recommend that website / app - I know ragz is very keen on it too. I've been intending to have a play with it myself and I will definitely do so now (well, over the weekend, anyway) as I know two people on this thread reckon it's good.Back after a very long break!0

yep, totally free :money: It's got ads in but they're not too obtrusive. Not all appropriate though - I just tried not to look at the one for Domino's pizza this morning :rotfl:Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160

Snacks - pineapple, grapes, plums, satsumas
Exercise - yet more planting of Spring bulbs (I must stop buying them!), vac'd through upstairs, cleaned mirrored wardrobe fronts. Hate that job, I can never get them all pefect at the same time
There's a similar web site called My Plate which I refer to occasionally to check calories/fat/carbs/exercise etc, but have got to know roughly what values most foods are over the years. hth
Enjoy the rest of the day0 -
Hi all. Food not been tracked so far today but roughly about 1000 calories and still got to have dinner. luckily it's a swim night!
MyFitnessPal is great, I've been using it for about 6/7 weeks and lost half a stone. It's really easy to use, I have entered a few of my own meals and soups in to the Meals part and it works well without too much hassle. Haven't really noticed the ads...
Hoping for a result at WI tomorrow. Swimming tonight, hopefully it will be a bit quieter than last week (pool rage again!)June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Afternoon All,
I keep a rough track of my calories but just with pencil and paper on the blank A4 pad I also use as a mousemat so it's always handy. I tend to know a lot of calorie values now and just google anything I need to know. I do most of my cooking from scratch so have gradually built up a rough idea of how many calories most things I make are. I also round everything up to the nearest 10 to make adding up quicker. If I make something new I usually weigh everything and do a quick calculation into portions. Although I haven't been losing recently I have lost 51 lbs since January so it obviously works ok for me. My main problem these days is just upping the calories a bit too much - but I'd rather do that and maintain than yo-yo up and down. I am happy at 8st 12 and size 8 so although I would like to to lose another 6lbs I am happy to do it really slowly.
B: Muesli with extra sultanas.
L: HM mushroom and spinach lasagne with carrots and green pepper (the strange combination is because I was using up left over vegetables. ) ApplePoached egg on toast.
Exercise: 2 hours of Pilates this morning and a total of 2 1/4 miles of walking with walk to classes and then delivering publicity material for work this afternoon.

Good evening
Low carb going well, today is my 4th day of re-starting the strict 14 days with no wholegrains, but it is helping me not to crave sweets so I am happy.
Today's food:
Breakfast: scrambled eggs with smoked salmon
Lunch: greens and courgette soup, steamed cod with mayonnaise
Snack: a few mixed nuts
Dinner: vegemince chilli (minus the beans), spinach and roquefort salad with toasted sunflower seeds.
Probably will have a small bowl of Greek yogurt with a few chopped walnuts before sleep.
Water: not so much water but plenty of decaff weak tea (too cold to drink water alone at the moment!)
Exercise: nothing today, other than walking here and there.
Feeling good, no bloating and hoping that tomorrow when I step on the scales I shall have lost at least one lb - hopefully more as I am on the right side of my hormons at the moment! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Well had an awful day yesterday but dredged up some will power today and so far so good. One of the newcommers was talking recently about breaking a sugar addiction and I know exactly what she means, if i eat a biscuit every day after lunch then I come to expect that biscuit and "need" it and start "needing" other sugar fixes. Breaking this takes a few days and a bit of will power rather than going the whole cut back on carbs route but I can understand those who find it helps.
Hi Lazy Liz, it was me who was talking about breaking sugar addiction and resolving it with low carb. I find that it does work for me, especially because my "low" carb is not as low as, say, Atkins, I eat tons of vegetables so I am probably eating a lot of carb, only not the starchy ones at present. In a few days once my body has got used to no sugar again (the first two weeks are a real struggle then it gets easier) I can go back to moderate amounts of wholegrains as well as veg and protein. Being almost vegetarian means that I am missing my pulses too at the moment but soon it will be back to lovely lentil soups and vege-chilli with borlotti beans (home-grown YUMMY!).
Best wishes for your diet, don't worry about a bad day, start again and feel good about yourself! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Good Morning x
I hope you are all feeling well this morning and keep on plodding - even after a bad day xx
I would like to register a 1.5 lb loss this week which added to my 4.5lb loss previously give me:):):):):) :T:T:T:
I will also be fighting off "The Witch" soon so guess it will slow down again but hopefully I wont gain too much. I do think a weekly weigh in has helped my motivation and attitude so will keep avoiding the scales. I also hope my activity levels go back up as have been laid up a bit this week.
Anyway hugs and positive vibes to you all xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
