Afternoon all - just a flying visit to add my plan for today:

B - three wheat biscuits with sliced banana and SS milk
L - cheese and tomato sandwich; five falafel with RF humous; bag of s&V crisps; glass of pineapple juice (it's a bigger lunch than normal as I'm working late and having my stomach growling loudly while I'm asking everyone else to be quiet might be a touch embarrassing! ;))
    S - bunch of grapes
D - RF chilli con carne burritos

Exercise - a walk up to and around the shops at lunchtime.

sparrer - well done you! :T

Well done everyone, staying with the journey through its ups and downs will get us there.

Weigh-in today, sts. I have not kept up with my exercise, this is my nemesis at the moment. Will do more!

    Have a good day all!
Healthy eating aim per day: 3 fruits, 3 or more vegetables, 3 low-fat dairy portions, 3 starch portions, 2-3 lean protein portions.
Weekly aim: to include 2 portions of fish (one oily), some nuts, seeds, beans and pulses.

What a lovely day in Cumbria, I wish I was outside not stuck in the office. However did get to have lunch outside, a big salad with kidney beans and a tin of sardines in tomato sauce, yum yum. I can only have that when DH is away as he hates the smell of sardines.

Just been fending off a stupid telephone scam where the caller pretends they are from Microsoft or Windows (!?) and that you have a fatal virus. I looked it up on the techi forums here and found lots of peole have experienced this, the ways of handling it are hilarious
(put phone computer scam in the search box and search forum). I didn't fall for it one bit just told them I didn't have a computer problem and goodbye. Some unwary people have fallen for this and lost quite a bit of money plus may have compromised their computer security and given away bank details etc. Take care!

Hi again, all. Sorry for being absent on parade for so long - I've only just got my 'puter back again after its power supply decided last Wednesday that this cruel world was all too much for it and that it would rather depart this mortal coil than ever have to sit through one more programme on BBC iPlayer again. Apparently EastEnders has this effect on a lot of people :)

Last week's planned meal out did not happen as the Birthday Boy had dental issues and so we've had to reschedule. Unfortunately, we more than made up for the deficiency by tucking into his Birthday cake for him and eating lots of junk food over the course of several days, followed by an impromptu evening in the pub on Saturday, necking back rather too many pints of beer.

Much to my amazement after all this I found I'd actually lost a pound when weigh-in day rolled round the following morning, but being without my PC was already making me feel kind of disconnected and lacking control over stuff (ridiculous, I know) and this has been reflected in what I've eaten for much of this week so I'm expecting my lost pound to return on Sunday, probably bringing a few new mates with it too.

Nevertheless, I'm clambering back on the wagon. No complaints about how the suspension has just started to groan :)

Somebody actually mentioned last week that he thought I'd lost weight, the only person so far to do so. Do you think I said 'Oh yes, getting on for a stone and a half so far, and I've worked hard(ish!) at it'? Nope, I looked at my feet, muttered 'Dunno, maybe' and changed the subject. Not entirely sure why, but I think that by the time his words had travelled from my earholes to my brain I'd translated them as 'You don't look your usual lardy self today!'

If my husband has noticed any weight loss then he hasn't commented on it. He has mentioned twice with some gratitude though that my 'ear-splitting snoring has improved ninety per cent' (what an old romantic!), but - erroneously, I think - puts this down to us finally getting a new bed. The fact that I'm taking up a bit less room in it these days has completely passed him by :)

I think I've caught up with reading the thread now - a massive 'Well done!' to all the losers :j I can't remember who asked about height (Ragz?), but I'm five foot three. Well, nearly :) With regard to the question about breakfast, I'd rather not, so I don't. I know all the diet and nutrition articles insist that it's necessary, but most also insist that you should 'listen to your body' too, and mine screams in protest at the prospect of breakfast. I'm far too undernourished at that time of the day to be bothered arguing with it ;)

Lastly, big hugs to LittleMoog on the loss of your Nannie. I hope things start to feel easier for you soon x

    Morning all.

Welcome back, Ida - there's nothing like one of your posts to make me smile first thing in the morning. :)

It was weigh day for me this morning and I've put back on what I lost last week and am back at my plateau weight. :( I'm not really surprised as I've lost all my motivation and enthusiasm this week - I've not just fallen off the wagon but let it trundle on to the next town without me. At least running to catch up with it will give me some exercise! :o;)

    Today goes:

B - banana and a fruity flapjack (not good, but I had about 2 minutes to eat something before I had to leave the house and the flapjack was the easiest thing to grab :o)
L - whatever's in my free lunch pack today (I'm guessing some sort of cheap and nasty sandwich, a bag of s&v crisps and a bottle of water, as that's what it's been for the past two days) ETA - I take it back - the crisps are plain ones today! ;)
    S - apple
D - cheese and tomato ciabatta pizza (heavy on the tomatoes and light on the cheese); mixed salad; possibly a bottle of ginger beer if there's still one in the fridge

Exercise - a walk - I'm not sure where or how far yet

    Have a good day, all.

Welcome back Ida, hope more poeple start to notice, accept the compliemnt don't start thinking they mean "you used to be fat" enjoy the moment! think of all the hard work you have put in, you deserve the compliment.:T

People at home never notice as quickly as someone who hasn't seen you for a while, if you see someone every day the change is gradual and you don't notice it.

Hoping to be sensible this weekend, maybe go for a walk althought the weather forecast has thunder storms! Or get some gardening done. I have a cucumber nearly ready so will buy some plain yougurt today and make tazziki for the weekend.

    Have a great weekend all.

  • Evening all. We got back from our few days at the caravan last night but had the 3 DGD's from 6.30 this morning - by the time they left at 5.00 p.m. I was exhausted, hence this is the first chance I have had to post.

We had a lovely few days away but, as with all the best laid plans, they didn't materialise! We got to the van mid morning on Monday, unpacked and then set off on what was going to be a brisk walk around Brimham Rocks and found the bilberries there all ready for picking (early, no doubt got off to a good start with the Easter heatwave) So we ate our packed lunch and used the empty tupper boxes to collect the berries. The long walk forgotten! This is the best I have ever seen them in all my years of picking them. We were up bright and early Tuesday morning and spent most of the day picking again. The thoughts of all the lovely jam and pies I could make must have put pounds back on me!

I did stick to my eating plan as best I could but, by Wednesday, we were fed up of picking and decided to treat ourselves to a nice lunch out! BAD idea! Why do I always have to look for the most fattening thing on the menu?!! Not to mention the most fattening pud! But I did eat sensibly yesterday to compensate! I won't comment on the rubbish I have eaten today!

Tomorrow is weigh day but, quite honestly, if I have stayed the same I will be more than happy! I seem to have lost all motivation recently and am falling of that wagon too regularly. Oh well, I will be back on it yet again tomorrow and I will post after I have braved the scales in the morning!
