To me it doesnt look like your eating enough !, im no expert mind, if i was ermmm id be slimmer :D

Bella – unfortunately my work takes me away from home quite a lot which can mean that healthy option food choices can be a problem, therefore I try to look at my calorie intake over the period of a week banking calories on the days that I work from home so that the increase doesn’t hit too hard when I’m staying away…hope that makes sense.

The other problem I have is that my lifestyle is very sedentary with little or no exercise...on the days I work from home I literally walk from my bed to my desk and then pretty much sit there all day until bed time when I make the return journey.:o That’s why I looked up my BMR…and in simple terms based on my current levels of physical exertion (haha...that’s a joke) I need to reduce my daily calorie intake to just over 1200 if I’m to loose just 1lb a week ….I know I know…I need to get my trainers on and do a lap of the park…I’ll start on Monday…maybe. :p

Ragz – I would agree that the BMR calculator is a really good tool...it was a real eye opener for me and ultimately will spur me on to do some kind of exercise.

Back from my run, really feeling it but I did manage the full second half of it uphill this time whereas last time I had to turn back to go downhill again and felt like I'd cheated! Definitely feeling fitter each session, which makes up for only having lost 4lb odd this month: at the beginning of May I was struggling with the 1 minute runs and now I'm managing 5 so I have my motivation back now!

Think I need to take a leaf out of your book Ragz...well done you...I must try harder!!! :o

Morning all

Today's plan:
B - weetabix & banana
L - pasta with mixed veg and tom sauce
D - tinned plum tomatoes on toast
S - grapes & banana

Exercise - aerobics class this evening

Must stick to the plan today - no jaffa cakes left so should be ok!

I'm inspired by you runners - I may try a little jog at the weekend :)

Have a good day everyone!

I also found a big fleecy leopardskin patterned dressing gown of the soft and snuggly type, which has never been worn apart from the first time I tried it on and turned to see a 5'3" spotted !!!!!! staring at me from the mirror.

I've just read this and it's made me smile, I feel so happy for you - a whole new range of clothing for you to wear and look fabulous in! I'm looking forward to being able to do that x

Morning all.

I have two confessions to make this morning:
The chicken I intended to eat for dinner last night was still a lump of ice when I got home so I had chilli con carne instead. That would have been fine - it was on my meal plan for today - except I topped it with quite a large amount of chilli cheese. I'm not going to lose much weight this month doing things like that! :o
Despite everything I've said about weighing myself more than once a week, I stepped on the scales this morning and then spent some time working myself into a tizzy over why I weigh more than I did on Monday. I really must stop doing that - you can't lose weight by worrying about it (I'd be a size 6 if you could! :o).
My plan for today:

B - large bowl of stewed pears and dried cranberries; slice of HM white bread with a scraping of ivy honey
S - small pack of rice crackers
L - I'll have to buy something as I didn't have time to make a packed lunch this morning (too busy worrying about what the scales said :o:o); there's a nice little sandwich bar just round the corner that does salad boxes with various toppings, so I might well go for one of those ETA - I did go for 'one of those', with two slices of fairly lean ham and some HM (well, shop-made) coleslaw - being HM it wasn't dripping with mayonnaise :) - plus a smallish piece of granary baguette
S - handful of fresh strawberries
D - chicken and veg pad thai (as the chicken should definitely be defrosted by tonight ;))

Exercise - 40 minutes or so walking at lunchtime; a bit of gardening this evening as my courgette plants are looking worryingly yellow and need planting out.

Have a good day, all.
Back after a very long break!

morning all :D
not too bad a day yesterday, swam 40 lengths last night (1km) i usually try to do 50 but i was tired.
i did succumb to 2 slices of toast and marmite when i got back though, i had only had a light tea so was hungry.

the plan for today is:

2 x wm toast and marmite

huge salad of peppers, celery, cucumber, spring onion, apple with warm chicken breast that i marinated & cooked last night (the kids are away this week so i can be more organised)

dinner will be a feta and veg bake with some bread & probably a glass of red.

i will be swimming again this evening so will probably have a snack early evening, dinner will be late

have a good day :D

my shiny new electronic scales are telling me i weigh 12 stones 6 pounds, i thought those old ones were rubbish :D
way hey! thats less weight i have to lose,
i have cut out chocolate, sweeties, booze, cream cakes, and i dont eat white bread which is a major thing for me as i was a breadoholic,
i think its mainly the booze thing though there's a ton of empty cals in that,
well done to every one else i better change my sig now

Weigh day, 11st 1.6lb, that's .2lb on :(. Will just have to cut down more, maybe stop snacking on fresh fruit as it's got sugar in it. Having said which I've just eaten a whole red grapefruit for breakfast. I don't put any sugar on it though. Oh well, I tried really hard but it's just not going to happen for me yet .

Thanks Ida, I needed a smile after standing on the scales :)

Todays plan
B - grapefruit
L - jacket with ff yogurt (no spread) and prawns. Melon
D - last of the salad stuff with hb egg, dressing of 1 teasp low fat mayo, 1 tablesp ff yogurt. Muller
Snax - apple, banana, satsuma - I will cut down but what's in the bowl has to be used up by tomorrow.
Usual gallons of tea with sk milk

I have lost approximately 2.5 llbs this week. It has been a difficult week as I have had lots of hospital appointments but hopefully the rest of this week and next will be much quieter and more settled. Having said that I have blown it this morning. I had choccy biscuits with my tea (quite a few!) Hate to think how many calories in those!

I am going to have a mini challenge as Im going away for the night to a very posh hotel next Saturday and would like a nice dress to wear. I have seen some i like in Mons00n so thought I might be careful and then go shopping next Friday maybe???
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
