I was really good yesterday... then bought some magnum whites so had one of those. Then ate a biscuit in the evening too. But I had walked about 3 miles though.

Been good today. For exercise I washed the car, stripped and re-made the bed, and did an hour of ironing.

b: 2 shredded wheat with raisins and slice strawberries
l: baguette with pastrami, low fat cheese and rocket and low fat mayo
    s: grapes
d: low fat sausages, mash, veg and gravy.

Trying not to think of food but we're out tomorrow so I have to go do packed lunches.

Tomorrow will be the chippie for tea too!!

So May 1st I'll start with a little more commitment :o

(just looked at slimming world stuff and am debating it - like the idea of a list of food you can eat as much as you like - but OH says it's a waste of money :o - I'm just looking for any extra motivation)
Hi newlywed, I found that SW did work but I preferred to walk from work home instead of getting a bus to their meeting because of class timings and giving them my money for the kind of support that I'm getting on here. Thanks everyone..:T
Have you thought of getting their cookbooks from the library or buying their books and magazines second-hand from Ebay? You'll soon get the idea and it'll be the old-style method.:D It's pretty simple really, and there's a thread on here for SW for advice and ideas too. HTH :)

    Hi all,

I'm so bored of being ill now ;) Seems every time I have time off work I am ill, probably because the stress drops and I'm left susceptible to everything doing the rounds. Still coughing like someone with a 60-a-day habit! I had planned to go biking every day I was off and haven't managed once because my lungs are in tatters :(

Onwards and upwards, back to work on Tuesday so no doubt I will be well again by then ;)

B/L: 2 wholemeal toast with light cream cheese (no butter)

D: Not sure, just realised the menu plan ended yesterday so I will have to rapidly come up with something as the closer it gets to dinner time, the more likely we are to end up eating take-away

Have a great week all :)

I had my weekly weigh this morning and, despite the Great Quiche Binge, I've lost another 1kg this week. :j

Today I've had / am having:

Brunch - smoked salmon and avocado on HM brown bread; fruit salad with LF fruit yoghurt
Snack - portion of dried fruit and nuts
Dinner - chicken parmigiana with pasta; glass or two of wine :)

floyd - I really hope you feel better soon, preferably before you go back to work on Tuesday. ;)

newlywed - a friend of mine did slimming world a couple of years ago and found what she liked most was the recipes, so Eenymeeny's suggestion of having a look at some of their books might be helpful. I didn't realise there was a SW thread, so I might mooch over and have a look to see if there's any interesting recipes on there. :)
Back after a very long break!

    Hi all,

Well, I bit the bullet and joined a well known slimming club that uses a "points system"..I have managed to drop 11lbs in 2 wks but I will say that at the start I have got a LOT of weight to lose (at least 7st) and i will then still be overweight!! I don't know if anyone has any "real" advice for me as I know..just don't eat so much!! I have noticed my costs skyrocketing though, due to oodles of fruit & veg ( I have been making use of aldi and the market) but theres three of us in here and one only eats rubbish, so I have to buy that for him or he won't eat- I won't give the son "low fat substitutes" as he is not overweight and children need a balanced diet(he's 11). I have now found myself buying and cooking three different meals!! I am also really really struggling with the lack of carbs...as it seems to me really "protein heavy" and sometimes all I want is a baked potato (and I never have put butter or cheese etc on...just a plain one) and salad! I don't know whether (as I'm going with a family member) to just keep the "well known slimming club" as a "weigh in" and go back to good old fashioned calorie counting, as i'm sure if i aim for 1000-1500 calories a day and low fat stuff I will still lose, and it just seems so much easier than all this food combining lark! I have found myself dreaming about pasta! lol I just want some inspiration for cooking as i'm tired of anaemic looking chicken and salad, and I would rather have a wisdom teeth pulled than have "veggie substitute meat" in anything again as it seems to look and act like sponge! I don't need crisps/treats/cake or chocolate, do u think I will be ok sticking to three meals a day, nothing inbetween with a "portion controlled" dinner ( as in, a "portion" according to the pack or with generic things without packets using the general calorie counting guides)....slowly losing the plot and my bank balance, any advice appreciated :) Thanks in advance all...surely someone'll save me! lol

Well as I promised myself, I spent yesterday (well some of it anyway!) browsing through recipes, LF cookbooks etc. I also dug out my trusty Calorie Guide which I bought many, many years ago! I am going back to the old fashioned way and trying to limit myself to 1,000 to 1,200 cals a day and everything that passes my lips will be added up! Can't be bothered working out points etc!

I made lots of LF soups to freeze in single portions (Cheese & Red Pepper, Tomato, Lentil & Basil and also a Celery one). I also stewed a mixture of berries (from the freezer, still a few left from last summer's picking) and froze in portions in yogurt pots. To top porridge at breakfast and have with sugar-free jelly and FF yogurt for dessert. Plenty of chicken and fish in the freezer.

So today is the day - new month, new start! I WILL lose this excess stone!! Good luck one and all. And Floyd I really hope you are feeling better and manage to enjoy the last couple of days before work on Tuesday.
