Hehe, it is very very silly, 2 hours, 22 mins, guess it would solve one variable, what I sound like, for the future meet! Must reiterate, it is not of any significance to the world, it is one of the more pointless things I could have ever talked aboutGod is good, all the time

Wow...
Such a great vibe from the thread over the last day :T:T:T:D:D:D
I love it:D:D
It is a brilliant place to finish off a very hard working week for me:D
The Frugal Meal Plan couldn't have come at a better time for us. I've had a few extra expenses I wasn't quite expecting so it should give me the opportunity to claw back some cash! Well done weezl
I couldn't agree more Frankie... for 2 reasons ( that I can think of at the moment )
Last night when I drove home, in the snow , I got home to find my heating had packed in
Anyway... somehow, I manage to get it working this morning... so now its like the Bahama's:rotfl:
I have one of those gas plan malarky's, so the engineer is coming tomorrow morning (which is actually today )
Hopefully the gas plan marlarky will cover it... as a new boiler isn't really an option at the moment
Also... this morning, whilst trying to get the boiler to go, I noticed a little trickle of water, in the kitchen from the window
My windows are not the best....and they have been in here for sometime, I believe...
I had hoped to replace them within the next 18 months, once I had the funds..... but now
A frugal mealplan may be needed
Ahhhh well, I guess it will all work out in the end eh ?
So.... today, AM, whilst waiting for gas guy, I will crack on with the remainder of the surveys for the first month.......
Is there anything else that you need / want me to do Weezl ??
Prior to the big day ?
Just holler, if so
Ok... bed now for moi

Morning,
sian you make me giggle!
weezl I've never made mayo. I'm happy to give it a try, though like others we are Tesco Value Mayo fans. I don't know if that makes any difference?
We had roast pork last night. As weezl said to make some space in the freezer, I'm doing my best, but I bought a whole lamb and half a pig at the beginning of the year and I'm a sucker for reduced bread, pies, sausages...you get the idea.
My 2 and a half freezers are a bit on the 'chokkas' side!0 -
potty Sorry to hear about your heating, my expenses are car related and not making sure a chq had been cashed related...DOH!
I might be doing this Plan for a few months!0 -

pinkhayley's leftovers list: brill brill brill keep all thoughts coming:D
PH I wonder if we can also inspire shirl more about what to do with any leftover ingredients? ie stuff that's not been used in a dish yet? we have excellent rice and pasta salad suggestions, and I want to include those, but am also aware that for a super strapped for cash shirl, she may not be able to buy any extra things in, so we may need to be very creative in a storecupboard challengy way. I think you've gone a long way to help her with this already, but I have a few recipes which may be planner 1 specific?
let me know if you'd like them, and again massive thanks for this:A

mayonnaise- sp?
interesting discussion over giving shirl the smart price one, thanks for those thoughts
price wise I do see where you're coming from, we would be making 780g of mayo for 74p that's bigger than an SP jar, but theirs is still cheaper by volume. hefty jar for 38p.
2 downsides though:1) the SP jar would be an extra purchase, whereas the HM mayo is coming out of shirl's leftover ingredients.
2) I guesstimate from the calories and ingredients list that the sp mayo is approx 40% water, since ingredients must in uk law be listed according to amounts used:
Ingredients Rapeseed Oil (50%), Water, Spirit Vinegar, Pasteurised Salted Egg Yolk (4.5%), Glucose Syrup, Modified Maize Starch, Sugar, Salt, Dijon Mustard (Water, Mustard Seeds, Vinegar, Salt, Preservative (Potassium Metabisulphite), Acidity Regulator (Citric Acid)), Acidity Regulator (Lactic Acid), Preservative (Potassium Sorbate), Stabiliser (Xanthan Gum), Antioxidant (Calcium Disodium Edta).
so it's mainly those 2 reasons that are prompting it. But I wanted to check if people were a bit scared of making it? but actually- bless you, you were all more concerned about our cash:rotfl::A
