Baked Bean Curry
It was fab. OH was a little worried as I was planning a curry that I said I would put some chicken in and then said he wasn't getting it. :rotfl:It seemed to make loads though. Mine and my OH's portion was 2 ladlefuls and I gave the kids (age 8 & 9) 1 and a half ladlefuls each. Probably about 2 adult portions left (which we'll have tomorrow for lunch.)
Verdict - we all loved it. My DS doesn't really like curry but he ate it all, my DD who doesn't really like baked beans ate it all too. OH thought it was 'spot on'
Out of 10 we gave it 7, 9, 9 and 9OH said it would have been a 10 if it would have had chicken in :rotfl:

That sounds like it was a hit :T
I might have to try it... and get a survey done for it
Thanks Weezl for the links :T:A0 -
Hello! A couple of volunteers required for some calorie counting of some of the recipes, is anyone interested?
I think using the tool provided by recipecal would be the most helpful, I'll explain more when I've seen who's up for it
I think I'd aim to give each person no more than 3 recipes to calculate cos it takes about 10 mins each recipe so that'd seem a bit much:D

sorry Boodle

That's ok... it isn't like I didn't know better considering I physically stirred flour, oil, sugar and fruit together
Wee Baby was born 9 months agoSeems like she had always been here and yet has grown so quickly. It's gone quicker than the 9 months before it anyway - felt like the longest pregnancy in the history of the earth
Just have fingers crossed she sleeps tonight - DH and I got 3 hours sleep last night cos she has 5 teeth cming through at once, bless her
ETA: I will do some calorie counting. Either later tonight or tomorrow if that's ok, as I am about to get starting on my baked bean curry, ready for EastE's live epLove and compassion to all x0 -

hi homegrown...does it taste like a curry? it sounds a bit like chilli beans so not sure what to expect. oh well, only one way to find out.. think it's going to have to find it's way onto next week's menu!
made weetabix cake this afternoon - about half of it gone already. my girls ate it but didn't love it. their friends asked for a piece but didn't eat all of it - their mum finished it off. think the friends were put off because they knew it had weetabix in it. next time I make it will add some spice and use brown sugar - not so frugalous but bit tastier...also forgot to presoak the fruit a la BOB.weaving through the chaos...0 -

Hi weezl - I'll do a few for you, but I won't have time till tomorrow afternoon. If you have enough helpers that can do the job sooner then give it to them, I won't be offended.
better go and finish off dinner now before the sausage burgers burn!weaving through the chaos...0 -
I have a 'left-overs' recipe that might fit in with the plan
pop 2/3 big serving spoons of leftover Chilli Mince into an ovenproof dish and cover with a batter mix ( I used 1 cup of plain flour, 1 cup of water and 1 egg) bake in a hot oven for 30 mins and serve with boiled potatoes and green beans - something my frugal mother always served up - very yummy. Can be used with bolognaise as well.
Hopefully theres enough ingredients left from the plan to fit this recipe in - what do you think Weezl?LBM March 2011 (what on earth took me so long?)overdraft (1) -2950 overdraft (2) -246.00total CC £12,661 :eek:loan £5000DFD 2016:eek::eek: (cant come soon enough)0
