a very measly 15g per person with mustard powder in the mix I am assured a slight cheesiness does come through tho

baked beans-wise, I'm not sure if they are the most affordable side dish for shirl, she will prob serve hers with 80g carrots each, but I think for feedback purposes it's definitely close enough to her meal to give us a great idea of what to expect.

Also, you feeding your family what they want and like is more important than mythical shirley :rotfl:

weezl, I didn't measure the cheese, but best guesses would be around 25-30g for the whole omelette which served 2 people. I basically made 1 big one and split it into 2, so if Shirley is going to use my technique (or lackof!) she'll basically be making 2 omelettes and dividing amongst the family.

Weezl, the bread of heaven recipe says 7g of dried yeast, in the comment bit.

I am thinking this might be why my attempt didnt work out, if we ar enow saying about 10g is the minimum

I definitely use more now I've switched to allinsons for shirley! That may have been it...

But it was a sachet of a particular fast acting one I used to use... from Tesco, either that or fresh, for free.

Which type of yeast did you use, I think 7 g of fresh should definitely still multiply, unless maybe you froze it first, that happened to us once with disasterous consequences!

Sorry tho, what a dissappointment xxx

weezl Would it be better to do either beans or potatoes as a side. Also what do the carrots come to cost wise (if you have it) and I guess it doesn't matter if the carrots are cooked or raw?

the whole family have 22p worth of carrot in a meal (4 x 80g portions) so it's cheaper than them having a scant quarter of a can of baked beans!

Raw or cooked is fine

Potato would be my slight preference, both cost and nutrition-wise but I trust your judgement

It was a fast acting one I buy in a big tub. Will try a bit more and have another go.
