Weezl, have been trying to find the tomatoey pasta dish you want to be tested but can't find it, can you point me in the right direction?

Also I had a look for silicone loaf tins but didn't find any for £1.99 as has been mentioned, can anyone give me a clue? Won't buy any yet until I have cracked baking the bread

Plus, am going to do the chicken and sweetcorn pie using some of the roast chicken leftovers. Are there any proportions you would like me to use? Have found the proportions on the planner for the pie and pasta, but not sure what you want done with them. The pie has 300g flour but no fat to make pastry, or is it now under a mash topping

BTW bought some mung dal at the ethnic shop in Tun Wells and was cross to see it a lot cheaper in Asda

It is actually cheaper than red lentils at 16.7p/100g as against 19.7p/100g and currently on offer, so even cheaper, although we couldn't use the cheaper price for the planner. Could it be a swap for the red lentils to save 60p for the vegan planner?

    the nutrition compares at
    red lentils - protein 24.2g, carbs 61.1g, fat 1.6g, fibre 4.7g
    mung dal - protein 30.3g, carbs 45g, fat 1.5g, fibre 7.5g

    Right ho.... :D
    I am puffed out :o
    All previous surveys now replaced....
And the results spreadsheets now available for all to see :)

I will crack on with more surveys, from the recipes link, during the week, if I get a chance :D

I'm mega hungry, as not had any dinner :( .....
Off to see whats about in the fridge :D

    Nighty nite all
    :D

    Edit...
Results for the Tea survey has been increased 6 fold, from Weezl's suggestion to post threads in OS and DT :T
The thread in OS was moved to the Arms, and even more responses were collated. :D
Oh...and the link in my signature was removed soon after :rotfl::rotfl:(it was a link to post 4 of this thread, but maybe I shouldn't have responded to the boardguide, by asking if she had filled in the survey before moving it :o:p) :)

The only thing that's a problem as far as I can see is the cheese and possibly the spread/butter.

The crumble topping may work using the oil instead of the spread and could have enough flavour just missing out the cheese. I'll try it and see
thank you that would be fantastic!

All the result data, up until 0130hrs on 15/03/2010, on all of the surveys, has been entered by myself, but it has been copied exactly as it was inputted on the original survey.
All data after this time, will be from individuals :)

I need to raid the wine rack now !!!:rotfl:
Potty, hats off to you all round! I had no idea you would need to re-enter the data manually, what a labour of love. You're amazing!:D

Linkie to cheap silicone tins. Slightly worrying as they can't spell on their website, which always troubles me a bit :(

Will get my head round proportions for the pasta dish today whilst fergie is at his childminder. (some tasks I find I can do while he is here giggling and playing and needing me every few mins, but others I need a bit of clear headed time, in case anyone's wondering why I manage to do certain things and not others!:rotfl:)

...with the pie, although I have still called it 'and sweetcorn' in the planner, I'm most happy with the version in the 'other place':o;) as this frees up enough sweetcorn to make better fritters IMHO... I don't mind if you bake or steam the pie, I slightly prefer the idea of steamed because of the way the pastry puffs up more and therefore you get the feel of a much more substantial dinner IYSWIM?

Interesting. Will research further! Also when sprouted could offer some salad options to planner 3.

Lesley are you willing to spare a small handful and see how easy they are to sprout?

I guess the things we'd be looking at would be, how long they take (so we don't end up with them all erupting on the last day of shirl's month, and also what sort of success rate we get ie what weight of sprouts is yielded by what original weight IYSWIM?

Please feel free to say no if you'd rather not :)

what herbs are available to shirley for the pasta dish?

I've been wondering about this too howlin. Basically it's your recipe and I trust you. There are no herbs currently, as we were going to assume shirley doesn't start from a completely empty cupboard, and also we were going to ask her to spare £3ish at the start if not to set herself up with salt/pepper/garam masala, chilli...

If it were in that ball park, I'd be comfortable with it coming from there, but equally I am very happy to make tweaks to accomodate something else because I know you will be price conscious when you choose it :)

these are 68p at asda (but possibly not available all year round?)

or dried oregano and thyme look quite good.

I personally don't think other herbs perform so wel dried, apart from rosemary, but that may over power your dish!

So in a nutshell: I haven't bought shirl anything yet, but I will follow your lead as it is your tried and trusted recipe :)

    Howzat?

But - pressure of work/life meaning summat "has to give" timewise.

So - 'fraid I won't be able to give any further input to this project. The Shirley/Bob kitlist is over there on Old Style Board - ready for a digest of this to be done and posted up on the "resource" site when ready.

I'll check in sometimes to see how progress is going - and pick up any further recipes for my personal collection (will certainly be interested to see what further recipes Lesley Gaye has for us:)).

    Morning,
I'm doing house pottering today weezl so I'll give the oatmeal biscuits a go. Also, do you still need the omlette doing or has someone else already covered that now?

Shanks is the only one who's tested the omelette so far, and she found that potato in the omelette and as a side dish was a bit much, so feel free to tweak, and let me know if a lower/no potato version works and is still substantial enough?
