I need to make some lunch for OH at 2.30-3. Nothing in mind at the mo, so is there anything you'd like me to try?

    does OH like soup?

    pea and spicey apple?

    or pate? the liver one?

    or maybe the bean one?

or maybe a littler version of the spanish omelette?

Happy to give amounts and a rough method once you say what kinda think OH might like :)

Soup is fine - there was a survey for tom soup? or the spanish omelet sounds good.

yes! But the tommy soup will need a rejig cos it relied on the milk powder now discontinued :(

The one for planner 3 will have garlic, balsamic toms and onion and oil, does that sound do-able?

does the pea snd spicey apple sound grim?:rotfl:

weezl, I forgot to say I tested an old "version" of the spanish omelette several days ago - no potatoes. (it wasn't so much a recipe as a list of ingredients ;))

around 80g of peas & 80g sweetcorn. Plus 2 small onions.

Then 3 eggs between 2 people along with a little milk. Added some chili powder & garlic puree to the egg. Omeletted it all together, topped with a sprinkling of cheese and served with HM wedges. Worked a treat and was filling & delicious.

(my only thing was it was A LOT of filling, so I wouldn't necessarily fully double it for a 4-person recipe...)

    Hi all:j

Just filled in the tea survey & wondered if you'd thought of buying B&S loose tea?? Here's what I put on the form, to save you reading all the responses. ' How about considering using loose tea? I use the brown/red label tea from Tesco, I think it's around 68p per box & that lasts us ages. Also, you can adjust the strength to suit. We like it strong....builder's tea here oop North, but I still only use 2tsp per pot (4 large mugs). HTH'

Plus of course the tea leaves are great in the compost as well. We have a teapot with a strainer that fits inside the lid, but I think you can still get tea strainers! More of a faff when making a cup for one person, but I have some tea bags for that 1 or 2 cup brew. Sorry if all this has been mentioned/discarded, I started doing it when we really had to cut back & have never gone back to teabags although DH would in a flash if allowed to - it's easy!:rotfl:

I don't think we have any peas to be honest - if it's ok with mushy pea's we might have a tin (we normally have a hm fish supper once a month) I've got garam masala and no blender but do have apples.

We have garlic, fresh and in vinegar, normal fresh or tinned toms (not sure what balsamic means other than 'in vinegar'), plenty of onions (4kg sack) and rapeseed oil - sound good?

ariarnia:D, yep I just abbreviate it to balsamic, but i meant the vinegar!

the pea soup is with marrowfats/mushy peas anyway so that would be fine. apples garan and garlic are the only other key constituents of that one..

or it sounds like you could do a version of the tommy one just with out the balsamic... might be a bit lacking tho?

    which woul you prefer?

Which ever you can explain easily. Really though, I'd be happy to do a pan of each, as I assume it will keep till tomorrow?

If you could reduce the quantities for me to serve 2 that would be grand.

If you have a bread recipe, I can do a loaf to go with it 2lb silicon tin as requested in a lovely yellow colour.
