OMG! 6 rounds !! Thought they would have a highly sophisticated centralised computer process to sort applications! :rotfl: :rotfl:
Seriously though, any mention of "cut off scores?"0 -
Unfortunately they wouldn't be drawn on cut off scores. I suppose I can kind of understand that as I would have went and told everyone and then people would have drawn their own conclusions. :rotfl:I was told though that I could be "very confident" with my child's score of 104. :j0

Ex=spendaholic, good for you for being able to get that info. You must be over the moon. I am very happy for you. I have tried twice with our first choice grammar and they wouldn't even let me speak to anyone!!!!! I was told that they could not give me any info at all, even general info and that I would just have to wait until May 29th!! It kind of p****d me off as they were the school who all but told me my son was in with his score of 102 and that it was a top B1 bordering on an A!! Obviously this was just to get us to apply and now that we have, suddenly its all a big secret!!! I am very very happy for you. Thats amazing :T0

Does anyone know what the cut off mark for BRA might be?0

I,m also waiting to hear of a cut off point for B.R.A my nerves are shattered although thank goodness my daughter has resigned herself to forgetting all about it and throwing herself into her school play at least someone has some sense in all of this.0

Has anyone rang B.R.A. recently to ask for the cut off point?0 -
have emailed them a couple of times and just get the same automated answer that they can give no guarantees for now0

thanks for getting back to me. I wonder do the schools even know the cut off date at this point yet? My daughter has scored 112 but still not confident that she will get a place0 -
First 3 rounds of applications have been done, so there are potentially another 3 rounds which should happen this week. No-one can really give a cut off score for a particular school at this point as they don't know what is lurking in the applications still to come.
For example a candidate A with 108 applies to Regent House and is in on the first round, the 2nd round they get moved out as people with higher marks didn't get their first preference school. Candidate A's application then moves on to Sullivan. Candidate A secures a place in Sullivan but knocks out someone else who was in there on 107. We will call him Candidate B. Candidate B's application then travels on to Grosvenor. The candidate is accepted in Grosvenor knocking someone with 106 out - Candidate C. Candidate C then has a form on the way to Wellington College where he is accepted knocking out someone below him on 105 - Candidate D. Candidate D with 105 then has his form moving on to Inst. Meanwhile Candidate B is ousted from Grosvenor when Candidate E who had been happy and safe in Methody is ousted by someone not accepted by BRA. Candidate B is then back in the system thus having a knock on effect on Candidate C as he has put Wellington as his 3rd choice and the whole thing starts all over again. Confused? I am :rotfl:
That is how I see the system anyway and its why no-one can give any guarantees at this stage.0 -
