We are in Lisburn/Banbridge catchment area - Friends, Wallace and Banbridge Academy are the choices in order, based on what they have taken in the past and numbers of A's being turned away in both Friends and Wallace, only slim chance would be Banbridge.0

Stanjnr - can I ask you a few questions??
Did your son have a birthday during the tests?
& more importantly did you get your money back?:D0 -
No son is an August birthday.
No mention of a refund of my money or what to do with my remark score, all was in the envelope was a results page like we got on 6th February but had an extra line showing the remark.
I think I remember reading somewhere that they would send the results of the remarks on to the schools but not taking any chances, want to make sure myself that the new score gets attached to his form.
I'll phone them tomorrow to see where my money is!!!0 -
Stanjnr, thank you for sharing that with us! It was lovely to hear some good news for a change xx0

I don't know about you all but I am finding the waiting really difficult. I just wish something would happen! I check this forum several (hundred lol) times daily in the hopes that someone will post some new information. Come on AQE, hurry up and publish your stats!0
-
Now that the remarking is complete they have no excuse in not releasing stats, I'm sure the 115 people that requested remarks won't have changed the stats too much.0

That is fantastic that your sons mark was increased, and now I feel sick that I did not put in for a remark!! My daughter got 97 if she got an increase of even 1 that would have put her up a into the third quintile. Oh my god what a bad parent!!!0

I was told by Mr Dickson after his speech that my son SHOULD have no problem getting in with his mark of 102. He said that he expected that the cut off for BRA would be around 99. He did not guarantee it but by him saying that he should have no problem, I am fairly confident. Also, since they accepted all their B2s last year I would have been fairly sure he'd get a place anyway!! Larne grammar principle also told me that he would 'be absolutely amazed' if my son did not get in with his mark (his exact words). Belfast High have told me they believe 102 to be strong B1 bordering on low A based on their own calculations that they have done. Belfast High also said that my son would stand a very good chance of getting in. If you were to contact these schools yourself and ask, I am sure you would be told the same thing! I am assuming that in order for these principles to make these remarks they must be quite confident that my son's mark is high enough, otherwise it indeed would be irresponsible and misleading.:)
Hi, thanks for getting back to me. Is Mr Dickson the principle at BRA? I went to the open nights but i cant remember the names! My daughter got 112 in the test and as i said she has BRA down first. I havent contacted any schools, just didnt think they would know etc. So BRA are going down to 99 then, thought maybe it might be below that. Just have to wait until 28th May now, thanks again for taking the time to reply.0 -

Yes Mr Dickson is the principle of B.R.A. He said he EXPECTED that the cut off will be AROUND 99. How he knows this I do not know but in any case I would stop worrying about your daughters mark of 112 because I honestly don't think she will have any problem0
