Thats gr8! I'm sure he was pleased! Do you mind me asking if they stated in their letter that secondary criteria was applied? My sons wee friend got 101 and didn't get in. He was a bit disappointed!

Yes the letter did state that secondary criteria was applied and I had to provide further information to enable them to verify the details the decision had been based on.

Last night was talking to the mum of a child who has not been placed in any school. Sat AQE but got in 70's - put variety of schools incl 2 x integrated and local high school but did not get anything. Lives in Comber and was given a list of schools in Lisburn, North and West Belfast etc!! Apparently she is one of 4 in her Primary school.

I'm really surprised the child didnt get into Nendrum if they live in Comber - was it heavily over subscribed? I have heard of a few that havent been placed - dreadful situation - I feel thankful not to be still sitting not knowing where my son is going.
  • too late for our kids who have gone through it - and for next year's and I wouldn't be holding out much hope with the lack of consensus on the hill....

  • Forgive my ignorance but how long will SF be in charge of our children's education? If the majority supports this report can they push it through or can CR block it?

Its hard to believe it was just last week that we were getting the letters. It seems like weeks have passed. I must admit its great to have got rid of the stress although I'm continuing to hear complete horror stories of kids with no schools and kids who should have got a grammar school and ended up in secondary.

I'm disappointed. I thought someone would have compiled a spreadsheet with all the cut off scores for the various schools by now!!
