It has inspired me to put their music on and I am currently listening to my all time favourite 'wish you were here'. Saw them in concert in 1994 in Canada and it was hands down the best concert I'v ever been to. They don't make em like that any more!! sorry everyone little diversion from transfer test stuff

Excellent, they are brilliant:j:D Yeh wish you were here is a classic, wish the letter were here to:D:D
Can't believe you have seen them live, what a memory, I hear the australian pink floyd that play at the odyssey are brilliant.
They definately don't make bands like pink floyd anymore, though the killers are pretty good:D:EasterBun0 -
Welcome to Madmumni. Its really sad that your son thought he hadn't done well. Unfortunately it is all too common.
My house is semi reasonable now. Wanted it clean for celebrating tomorrow. See I'm in an optimistic 30 seconds now. :rotfl::rotfl:
I drove past Grosvenor this afternoon and there were 2 magpies sitting on the lawn. That has to be a sign doesn't it?

Good point dark horse, we all need to remember that!0 -

I read through the BGS admission criteria and it looked to me like they went in rank order of score, for the first 112 places, and then rank order of score for the next places, which kinda did not make sense,
The pool only came in if there were extra places. It was a little confusing so maybe I picked it up wrong.:EasterBun0 -
OK, I've had way too much wine/gone mad/lost it cos this thread has time 1 hour behind my time. It's 9.25pm and I don't believe no-one has posted in last hour!

Well the memory is slightly clouded/enhanced by the amount of weed that I inhaled from others who were partaking at the concert. It was an outdoor concert in a huge stadium in Toronto on a very hot July evening. The minute we entered the stadium and found our seats we were hit by the whiff of marijuana floating around everywhere . By the time they floated the big pink pig blimp, I was as high as a kite (not by choice I might add) Still it was amazing and an experience I won't forget! BTW, just listening now too 'Comfortably Numb'

It is very confusing and principle of Carrick grammar had to explain it to me a few times. Basically, its rank order for a percentage of the places (in most cases 90%) and then for the remaining 10% of cases they go down in rank order again and make a pool of kids for the remaining places. However, the number of kids in this pool is greater than the number of places remaining. Each child in this pool is then treated equally, irrespective of their score and then other criteria is applied. Sooooo, for illustrative purposes, lets say its Belfast High, the first 90 places are allocated in rank order. There are 10 places remaining. The next 15 kids will be chosen using rank order and placed in a pool where all will be treated equal (so my son's score of 102 will be equal to another child's score of 99). The other criteria is then applied. Child with score of 99 has a brother attending the school, my son doesn't, child with score of 99 gets the place over my son. This other criteria is applied to the pool until all the remaining 10 places are filled. If 10 of the children have siblings at the school, my son will be left in the remaining 5 that did not get a place even though his score may be higher than the 10 who got a place. I apologise if you already understood this system. It took me a while to understand what it meant so just wanted to pass it on to anyone who didn't quite know what it meant10DaystoGo..AHHHHHHHHH wrote: »I read through the BGS admission criteria and it looked to me like they went in rank order of score, for the first 112 places, and then rank order of score for the next places, which kinda did not make sense,
