    Hi everyone.....

McBirnie - As you say - must stay positive - say it again - must stay positive.......

Has anyone got any advise on the questions asked about over paying morgage - OP was yesterday on this thread....

Would be very grateful for any advise please.

On the positive side (see I am getting better!) I have listed 14 items on ebay - not one sold yet - still there is time - just a tad worried that I have spent the money listing and will not make that back let alone any more.

Hope you all have had a good day.

    Me.

Depends on how much money you're talking about. From other posters I know paying to DMP is not an option - if you really feel you've had your lightbulb moment and can trust yourself why not open an emergency savings account and accumulate some money in there. Then if disaster strikes you can lend money to yourself, at a negotiated interest rate!

But if you have an offset mortgage you can pay it in and still have access to it if you need it. Otherwise I'd go for a cushion, then OP mortgage.

Same here on ebay. Setting myself target 9pathetic one I know compared to some on here!) of 3 items a week, but think I will compromise & list on Turbo Booster instead, then upload in autumn.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • Hi

    It's Me again!!

I am back after a very depressed week. I am so cross that I have not got my car back from the garage despite them promising it almost everyday.

You know the scene: car has been in for 10 days - informed by garage should be ready on Monday, Call Monday to see when to collect informed that short of staff in paint shop and will be ready Wednesday, I am out so arrange for Thursday. Call Thursday - car still in paint shop will be ready Friday. Call Friday not ready suggest try again Monday............

Monday comes - ring garage ... no car they sent the wrong bumper; a rear one and my car needs a front one. Never mind will be ready Tuesday, I am at uni so arrange to collect on Wenesday as in town anyway... guess what car not ready..

Ring again today ..... again car not ready ---- this time I am cross and ask for car to be delivered as not driving all the way to town 20 miles!! Informed by garage that they were a driver short today and not sure if they can tomorrow ....I was very cross by this stage and politely but firmly stated that they will deliver my car tomorrow and that their staff shortages are not my concern.

What really annoys me are the dates of completion that have not been met... if they had only said your car will take 3 or even 4 weeks to fix they fine I can cope and plan accordingly. Also another grip is that my car is bigger and has air con. This is so tiny that 4 Tesco's bags fill the boot and DS has had school trip - getting cases into and out of the back seat is inelegant and not fun......!

    Enough moaning for tonight....

    Take care all

    Me.

  • Hi all.....

I think it is just me again - never mind - it feels better when I off load!

    So shall we begin......

A better day - so far - Have been paid so I have been able toclear the outstanding gas/electric/and water bills from my rental property. In total about £100.00 so need to adjust spending to cope with this amount.

I think I will try a bit more on ebay as although it is quiet anything that I can gain will help at the back end of the month.

I wish my money came in one lump sum as I am sure that this would make life easier to work out a budget. I wanted to move money into a savings account to cover shopping but I dare not yet as the big DD's are due out in the next 10 days.

See that is better - I feel slightly more organised - it might be an illusion but I am sticking with it!

    Bye for now

    Me

PS. I think you are right FF I have slowed down as I went a bit overboard with budgets and saving etc last week. Sorry!

  • Hi All

Well I have some good news...... I have saved £3.20 in 20p's. They were right it does mount up very quickly, just got to keep going as I have told the children that it is for a day out in the sommer holidays. At the moment we have enough for an ice cream each!!

I was going to demolish our sheds this morning but we have had a welcome thunder storm so it is cooler now but the shed is all soggy...... I feel the ironing pile is calling me...... oh hum!

I thought I would let you know that I have start to get letters/ calls from the creditors. Egg appear positive and will accept however they state payment must be received by the 20th but CCCS state payment will be made by 25th. Does anyone have any advise please?

Also keep getting automated calls from NatWest but cannot get connection when press the button - do I just wait from them to write to me or do I contact them...?

Hope you are all feeling a little cooler.

Hey methekids, just noticed that no-one's advised you to download and use turbolister for Ebay - makes listing a LOT quicker IMHO :)

  • Hi Dotty

Yes I have to make payment to CCCS by the 1st of August but they are not due to make payment to creditors until 25th August. Not sure what to do about Egg, I think I will ring CCCS on Monday.

I am glad your DMP is going ok. I think it does take a while for it all to be set up and to start running smoothly.

    Hi Jobbingmusician.

Thanks you for the tip, I only found out about Turbo lister the other day - what a difference!!! So speedy - just wish I could get people to buy then I would be very happy, clearing the clutter and getting a little bit of money in return...................

Hey there - i would ring the CCCS and ask them about Egg - they may want you to forward the correspondence to them - it seems tho they are acceptaoble - i also have 2 debts with egg - 1 is £1050 the other a whopping £19,500 - how much are yours if you dont mind me asking - its just that Egg being my largest creditor is the one im most worried about accepting the offer.......

  • Hi Dotty

My debt with Egg is just over 6k although not the biggest still a sizeable chunk of the debt. I am going to ring them on Monday, it will set my mind at rest otherwise I will worry and not study.

I thought I would start yet another spread sheet to show how it is coming down each month, I hope it will provide me with some encouragement.

    Dotty

I am really worried about remaining in budget each month as my money comes in dribs and drabs and not one lump sum that I can split easily into DD money and cash (food, school dinners, savings etc.) I have tried budgeting in the past and it all falls apart after about a week to 10 days.

    Me

PS...I have just been outside to stand in the garden - strange I know - but it is blowing like a gale and is sooooooo cool. Feel refreshed now. Big black clouds everywhere so maybe we will get some more rain.

  • Hi all

I am finding this soooo cathartic even if no-one is reading it.... yeah right!

Well I have had a sort of productive day.... let me explain..... a no spend day - again yipee.......

Well actually I have not been out as have been researching articles for my dissertation so chained to the computer much to the kids disgust.

Anyway persauded them to move all of the wood, tin from old shed that we knocked down yesterday so I can just go and sweep the base. Still need to knock down the big shed but a bit scared to tackle this on my own as it is so big and I am very accident prone.

Have also set up spread sheets for each of the debts but have had a phone call from M&S stating that the amount allocated by CCCS is not enough as it should equal 1% of the balance so I am about £8 odd short. I could make this from ebay sales each month and pay additional amount but I think CCCS will not like it as it will mess up their computer systems.

My concern is that if I dont the chap said they will issue a default on the debt. Not sure what this will entail - anyone got any ideas......

    Take care all
