hi mtkatc great to hear it's working out for you ..i'm hoping to do biological sciences next year(well this sep) and a few of those on my class are planning on going onto do o.t have you done biological sciences? is it hard (if you have that is)
  • Hi Elantan

I am sorry - I think it is my night for feeling thick - Do you mean Biology perchance?

Yes biology would be very helpful as you need a good grounding in anatomy and physiology to understand normal movement before you can understand the process when things are not working correctly. For example you need to understand normal sitting posture - which bones and muscles are used to maintain the sitting balance before you can see how a stoke patient might not have an affective sitting balance and also how this will affect his daily life. This knowledge will help you see how OT interventions can help resolve functional concerns with activities of daily living.

As a 'mature' student - alright very mature ..... it is a difficult course as it is very intense but it is also very interesting and informative.

    I hope this helps.

  • Hi All

It is an awfully big empty space in here - I think I must be on my own.... halloooooooo.................................halloooooooo. No just me and the echo!

Had another lovely sunny day and was quite productive for a change, sent off 3 more direct debit forms showing new bank details. Also I have decided to set up another basic bank account with the Co-op to use for food shopping and dinner money etc. The the other account will just be for direct debits and hopefully I should not go over drawn!

I have thought about sending extra payments to the DMP (they will only be small amounts £20/30 but does anyone know if this will annoy CCCS or the creditors who will say I can afford more. This extra will only be if I can sell stuff on ebay and therefore not predictable or regular money. I would be grateful of any pointers.

I will return later to see if anyone else has ventured into this huge empty space......................................

  • Hallooooo

    Still no-one here...

Also thought I would ask if it is worth saving small amounts of moeny -ie rounding down bank accounts etc to pay towards mortgage which is also massive.

    Howdy you!

DO NOT send extra payments to us! this is for several reasons the two main ones being 1) our system has a mental breakdown trying to decided where to send it & 2) your creditors will want to know where your getting it from and why it can't be there all the time.

If you have extra cash save it til you have enough to clear off the smallest debt on the plan. then pay it, tell us and we will stop sending them money!

Ahem,,,,,,, at the risk of looking thick (yet again........) what is OT????????

Keep it up, you've made a great start.

ps how many sheds do you have???????? Are they all turned out now????? Could you sell one?????? How big was the biggest spider?????? Do you want to come & do mine (have v small field mouse in it though) (called wc, as in wc fields)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Helo & welcome! Hae been on hol so missed prev posts...good t see you've settled in & doing well & congratulations on sorting your DMP. Can totally relate to avoidance tactics (ie sitting her rather than defrosting freezer!!) & used to have the cleanest house when it was essay wrting time!! Can also relate to the mature student bit but worth it as you enjoy (no you do honest!!) study more...mind you pleased that my 10 years of study is over!! Keep up the good work!

  • Thanks Wondergirl

That makes much more sense - I will save in the Building Society and then pay off the little ones.

Hi Ali - I have 4 sheds and an outside loo ---- not that I would use it - no seat only half a door!!
Two of the sheds are in reasonable condition just a little bit leaky but one has a very very little door - used to hold chickens I believe but I just keep hitting my head when I go in/out and it annoys me (My friends tell me that I am vertically challenged so the door is very little!) The big shed used to hold rabbits - for food I think - aw! But now it has a very nice large view of the sky - could dine alfresco anyway my neighbour is going to knock them down for me as the would cost too much to repair. But I rushed around clearing them out and forgot the cardinal rule that this is the country and even when people say they will do something it will take them several weeks to do it.......

Ali - I would do yours _ I actually found it quite satisfying to clear out mine but I can't do mice - had to pay DD £2.00 to get rid of mouse in trap at old house - yuk.

By the way - OT is occupational therapy.

Hope you have a spend free day.
