Thanks Jennie, we are on the same level! I guess i class weekends as time for family and if he's in bed its no different to me than a weekday.0

Hey bailey, I do empathise with you. I used to have exactly the same issues when my two were younger (4 and 6 now). We have bow set the rule that we wont get out of bed until 9 at the weekends (unless for something special). We are really lucky now though as they are more than happy to go downstairs and turn the TV on (only time they really get to sit and watch it these days!) and even make their own brekkie (only cereals, no toast allowed
!!! We have even been known to be given breakfast in bed!!!
So dont sweat it too much, your time will come, and you will appreciate your lie ins "together" even more
p.s. As he has a boys toyz day once a fortnight, I do hope you get a regular girly day in compensation

We do alternate weekend days too, but do have probs when it comes to going out for the day. Usually, if we have to be up to go somewhere, we'll not leave until 10ish so we still get a small lie in, and I will have the 'big' lie in on the other day. My justification for this, is that I have to get up and go to work, while if needed, my OH could 'catch up' on sleep inn the week while the kids are at school and nursery (although in practice, he rarely does!)
I too, would not be happy with being told to get up for a certain time on 'lie in' day!0 -
I never used to get a lie in, the kids always wanted me to get up and wouldnt leave me alone!“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

Us as well, we are up by 7 every Sunday:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Do you still get up jackie? Mine are those ages next month and we let them go downstairs and watch tv for a bit and they often get their own breakfast. One of us still comes down before the other though!jackieglasgow wrote: »Don't ask me! My kids are 7 and 10 and I still haven't solved this one!! It's on a par with those "who's had the least sleep" fights you have when they're babies! (Although if he gets a "day off" once a fortnight I reckon he's got a cheek!)0 -

That's what I struggle with. I've got three children and two dogs. He likes a lie in on Saturdays and Sundays and I try really hard to keep everyone quiet but he usually gets woken up and comes down and shouts at us all
I would take everyone out, but he doesn't like me going back into our bedroom to get washed and dressed as that disturbs him as well. I suppose I could put my wash stuff and clothes in the other bathroom the night before, but I like to lounge around in my jarmies drinking coffee on weekend mornings. It makes a change from the weekday morning rush of getting three children dressed and out with the relevant stuff, and myself dressed and out to work with the correct paperwork and stuff.
It's really difficult to find a solution that keeps everyone happy. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Becles why are you letting him dictate. Tough if he can not have a sleep in. At least have him share the lie ins . Both saturday &sunday !.0

plus in the middle of winter or on a rainy day, venturing out into the park just to kill a few early hours, isn't my idea of fun.0
