Sent the wife up to our local store(I do hate shopping) None in yet but are due in.
Bargain or what?
not very good specs for a laptop though it depends on what you are going to use it for at the end of the day isn't it.:DSignature Removed MSE Forum Team 20 -
for vista to run you need 512mb ram/ harddrive space it take up 15gb so any one buying this laptop would have to upgrade to min 80gb hdd. graphics card min128mb.
most acers now have built in wifi . but the specs for a basic laptop it is ok it should also come with windows xp home. the dvd rw is 8x cdrw 24x:rotfl: given up on tesco do a lot os boots offers. but weekends are now in orange trackside b. lol
now a race marshal at silverstone.:beer:0 -
Why is everyone so concerned about upgrading it to Vista? What's the point? XP is perfectly good, and there is no need for it at all!
I'm still running Win2k on my work laptop - and not once have I thought "Ooh, I could really do with XP here!"0 -
Exactly, nobody is gonna have to worry about Vista for a good few years. And, it may run on 512 but 1g is optimum. As stated, this is a good price for a lappy, good for the techies? NO, but good for the average joe.
Please remember that there's still people out there using 95 and especially 98 and still very happy. Not everyone wants to keep up with the jones's (or should that be Gates's).0 -
Wanted a laptop for my 14 year old for his options next year. This is a great price, so not going to break the bank.0

Hey, I'm a techie and I'm thinking of buying one! It'll be a secondary machine, as the desktop is the main one, but for web/email/word etc it'll be fine. Should even run Eclipse for some Java development without too many problems (maybe a RAM upgrade though).
Does anyone know when this is actually appearing in stores? The tesco website shows nothing about it.0 -
Just been to my local Tesco and they dont have any... boo hoo0

I spoke to my local store about this yesterday and they told me that it should be in the stores in the next week or 2.0
