I've just picked up one of these at Tesco - Western Avenue - Cardiff.
They're not on display but if you ask at the Sound and Vision desk they have them out the back.
Bargain!

Tesco Ireland had a great deal 2 weeks ago.
50% back on all Laptops in cashcard points.
I bought the €599 model so it will effectively only cost me €300 or £200.
1.5 Ghz Celeron M370 processor,256Mb DDR2,40 Gb HDD,8x DVD-RW,WLAN,LAN,Modem,Firewire,S Video Out,4 USB2 ports.
Its a fine laptop.

Thanks to the original post I brought 2 yesterday and we are well pleased with them. My kids are now the proud owners of a computer each - we are broke now though - any good deals on baked beans?

I bought one of these laptops in Tesco at Irlam last night. The sales guy thought they didn't have any when I took the box to the checkout, however after he went to check he said I was in luck as they just got another batch in.

Also managed to use up a double clubcard points voucher with it.

Laptop is great value for a general use machine. Memory can be upgraded easily/cheaply:

Irlam now sold out - just got back from there. They had a box on display, but after searching at the back for 20 minutes, he came back and said he couldn't find any :-(

I'm going to start taking it as a sign that I shouldn't be spending!

Check your receipt as I used a double points voucher and even though they took it and it said double points on the receipt, it didn't give me double points. I had to phone up and complain to clubcard. Mine was Tesco Irlam too.

I guess I was one of the lucky ones that managed to get one of these.
A question about it? Has anybody succeeded in getting the bluetooth on this laptop to work. It has the bluetooth logo on the top and a bluetooth button on the front but my mobile phone does not detect any new devices after the button is pressed and the laptop doesn't seem to do anything either.
Has the manufacturer switched this feature off and if not is there does anybody know of a way to manually enable it?
Hope someone can help.

I believe it isnt bluetooth capable and the feature isnt actually on this model. I think if you go into the Acer management properties you will see that it doesnt have bluetooth. The more expensive versions do so i think that it is a case for more than one type of machine.
