section 59 - outrageous highway robbery?

I'm surprised anything gets as far as court these days - it's a miracle if any case gets past CPS - they pretty much act as judge and jury, not the police.[0

We only have the OP's word that that's what happened. Do you think young lads go on a cruise driving like to$$ers then go home and tell their mother?! Well they probably have to say something when the car gets towed, but it won't be I was driving like an idiot round maccy d's drive through for hours on end.
So let the police present their evidence before a court, who would have the powers to seize the car. Nobody should be subject to fine or forfeiture on the say-so of a police officer."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -

So the moron gets to keep his car and continue his activities until a court appearance, by which time he could have killed and maimed a few people.0 -

You are assuming guilt. Please read my earlier post about malcious allegations made by third parties."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
Well if Section 59 is being used by the police as a deterrent, then it's not working is it? It might remove a couple of cars from the road, but it won't stop others doing the same. The risk of getting caught is miniscule. Sems to me it's symptomatic of society when all we can do is punish the few and let the majority get away with murder. Still.... it's seen as a 'good result' for our boys in blue.0

Second offence, yeah right. I am sure the sun is shining out of his backside as well.
I am sure the public have nothing better to do than make up stuff about these moron's.0 -
Read article 6 ( right to a fair trial) of Schedule 1, Part 1 and article 1 of the First Protocol ( arbitary seizure of property) of the Human Rights Act 1998.0

Unfortunately, some people do make false allegations to the police."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
