Exactly, I had approx £1200 salary going in and yet Lloyds gave me a £2900 overdraft, which of course I spent!

Well we both know Lloyds are not the best on calculations LOL. I have noticed that lots of people have very large overdrafts I thought ours at £2000 was a lot but probably isnt due to the two salaries going in each month.
More positive thinking for me going forward cant wait for a few huge cheques tomorrow well at least one from mm lots of bids on ebay making me more than i dreamed of and maybe winning something on one of the many competitions I have entered.
Hopefully this time next year our christmas planning will be slightly different

Well I am a bit mad at the banks but we spent the money so we have to pay it back. watch this space that interest will be gone before you know it with no work this week spreadsheets will be gone through with a fine tooth comb tomorrow.
BTW how come you two or on here at this tme of day ?

Oh was that for me? I was 'working' :D

I don't get the whole lending thing. When I was not as well paid as I was now, I was able to get £20k loans and £6k+ credit cards etc. Now I earn more than double that of when I was in my early twenties, and I cannot even get a £2k credit card, despite my score being around 965 and having NO defaults at all and being a regular repayer! I think it's either because I'm at my credit limit of £18k (unlikely) or they thing I'm going to pay everything back too quick and thus wont make any money out of me!

I'm sure they go after those they think will they will make money from in terms of charges and stuff :(

I think your right your too good at paying back now and will not make them any money. I had several cards with 8K limits which I have paid off and closed but i cant get anymore as I still have too much credit for my salary opps just checked and still have 30k available but im working on it. Im sure i have read somewhere companies only lend upto 50% of your salary now wish it was like that years ago. Instead of increasing credit limits they just increase interest rates now suppose they have to make money somewhere especially as we are all trying to pay them of as quickly as possible.

I wish it was like that when I got all my debt problems. I had a temp job making about £5p/h I think and got an £8.5k loan for my car! It was crazy that I got accepted as it was only a temp office job! And from them money was thrown at me as a naive 18 year old! Damn I hate these companies!

See what I mean, they screw everyone and must be at least 25% responsible for our situations!
