It will be GONE !!!

The time has come to start my diary i have like many others been floating around getting inspiration from others, I think maybe this will keep me focused as that LBM happened just after christmas.

After losing my job at the end of last year and spending all christmas worrying even though DH has a very good job and salary we really needed to address the big problem DEBT, Not quite ready to confess how much but im well on the way to changing our spending habits.
By the way I have a new job started 13th January :T

I have cut all non essentials out im having at least 4 NSD every week and im over paying my first debt which isto go hopefully the end of the month debt 1 will be GONE GONE GONE.

The first hurdle is going to be getting through a weekend away with the girls on my budget but to be honest im looking forward to the challenge.:D

Im going to post daily if I can just so I can see what i go through to clear the debt then that should be enough to stop me ever doing it again.....

Thanks all for popping in, I've had one of the worst days ever in my new job just glad it's over.
Well bags are packed and ready for my long weekend with the girls and my budget is safely stuffed in my purse.
Weekly shop done tonight as well so DH & DS don't starve while im away £38.00 not bad when my budget is £50. We have decided that anything left in the pot will treat us to a night out together as a family when we have enough.
May not be around for a few days unless I can get to a computer but that will probably cost money and not in my budget.
I think i will start counting how many times I say budget in a day it seems like i say it in every sentance worst bit is DH is saying it too now LOL

Well i made it through the weekend and spent only slightly more than I had planned but im sure it could have been so much more, we even managed a free meal :T
I have just made another £20 payment to the first debt due to be paid off and im hoping to clear this by the end of February its not that big £346.38 but with only 2 weeks to go i have got to make some money. I'm already on my way won £30 on bb last night and amazon is paying out £49.34 should be in my account tomorrow so im now down to £267.04. WOW is going down already:j
My plans for the weekend is a big upload onto ebay not sure I can make all that in 2 weeks but im going to give it a go. Just remembered I have £24 in £2 coins so that can go against it as well.

Need some advice on the amount of credit I have last night i tried to apply for a 0% cc but got declined as I have more credit that my income will allow. I have now listed all my credit limits and they totaled nearly £44k so i have immediately reduced some of these mainly catalogues which i reduced by over £7k, will these make it easier for me to get credit in the future if I continue to reduce or close accounts as they are paid off or will it look bad.

Off to bed and rack my brains where I will make £267.04 oh and a NSD for me today.

Well after another busy day at work i have made £10 on amazon and £10.00 on ebay so just need to transfer some money then thats a bit more off the debt.I'm determined to list loads on ebay this weekend even got teenage DS to clear his cupboard out.
Trying to keep positive but after a very busy week i'm craving junk food, takeaways and some retail therapy although I do need to buy DH a birthday present this weekend probably the only safe way is to take cash only.
Maybe a early night and things will seem better in the morning

Hoping to find lots more stuff to ebay this weekend £296 is not so much to find if only my lottery numbers would come out tomorrow, I'll update my signature if they do.

Not the best weekend DH and DS have been away , I've been sorting all the money or not as it seems DH has been using the bank but not giving me any reciepts so i was thinking we are doing really well only to find out we are £300 worse than i thought
So fed up not sure what to do next I knew the time would come to confess debt stands at nearly 50,000 . I have spent most of the day looking for things to ebay and now my lounge looks like a jumble sale. I took 4 18ct gold rings into town earlier to see how much i would get and they offered my £62 so I have kept them and thought i might try them on ebay any thoughts anyone?
Somebody tell me it gets better even if they debt only comes down a little at a time.:(

Why dont they have a smiley face crying and stamping its feet i know i got us in the state but it was so hard to say no we cant afford it. We do have quite a bit of equity in the house should i remortgage, I am paying everything and now i have my new job I will get my first months full wage this month after 4 months hopefully things will seem better then.

  • Hi,
Thought I'd pop in to say hi! Just want to reassure you that you've done well just to have the lbm. So long as the debts don't increase, you're doing better than you were :D.
I've recently started my diary and I have quite a few bad days but with the support of all the other moneysaver's I realise that acknowledging the debt is half the battle.
I've subscribed to your diary so I can follow your progress and give you a vitual shoulder to cry on when you need it! My dh is rubbish and talks the talk of saving money but the only thing he's done so far is buy me a cheap bday pressie to save money. :rotfl: Don't give up! When you've paid that first debt you'll feel so much better!
Proud to be dealing with my debts,

Well a slightly more positive head on today, In the last 2 days i have listed over 40 items on ebay. Also today has been a NSD so was yesterday i even made DH a valentines card not sure that he was that impressed but it raised a smile maybe not for the right reason but i did try

Wait til he sees his birthday card next week maybe i can make it our of his empty fag packets :T then again maybe I should wrap them up as a present :D

    Plan for the next week
    1. put at least 5 things on ebay each night
    2. Do 30 minutes on the running machine every other night
3.Work out budget for the rest of the month

Off to check my ebay and see if i can pay a few more pound off debt number one
