In my Lloyds statement yesterday I had a leaflet saying payments are now going against transactions incurring interest first, does this mean if I dont clear all of the card I can still do a BT and the remainder of the balance left on the card will get paid off first.
If so I may relax a little it says from 15 jan so i may get a little interest in December but in theory it will be gone January, looks like spreadsheet to be sorted tonight as I have decided we do need some fun and if it takes me until Feb 2012 hey how cares as long as I get there.
It's Friday fingers crossed my euro millions ticket comes out tonight have a great day everyone dont get blown away.................................MARCH 2016 DEBT £25750/ £25035

Just de-lurking - I think the cc companies have had to change as they have had their knuckles rapped for taking payments in such a way that they maximise the amount of money they scr3wed out of people. They have to take the payment off the biggest interest element first I think now (or something like that - finance is not my strong point that's why I'm here!!)0

Morning HWG
I think you and Jay are right, they have been forced to change the way they allocate payment (finally!).
You could always ring to clarify, fingers crossed you get someone with half a clue though as we both know how smart the staff are!

Woohoo Im going to make my payments this month then do the BT or should I just BT now £5000, that would save me making at least one large payment and I still may be able to clear Lloyds then, I know I will incur some interest charges. Hmmm off to ponder and await your thoughts.MARCH 2016 DEBT £25750/ £25035

How much in interest charges will you acrrue?
Are you happier tonight then?LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

Estimated interest this month on Lloyds is £43.03, but I have already paid more than the minimum so this should come in less
Interest on HSBC is £213.86 on about £11k, I know I will have a BT fee but I can pay the balance and fee off with December pay and hopefully only have the 0% left on the card.
Im also worried the will take the offer away soon as I clear my balance.MARCH 2016 DEBT £25750/ £25035

I would probably do the transfer now, especially in light of the way they now allocate the payments. Is it the interest element that's putting you off?LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

Im not sure really they are only going to start allocating the payments with interest in January however I think I will have about £500 owing after payday. At least if I do the BT now it gives plenty of time for it to clear so I wont have to make my monthly payment at month end to HSBC which will save me about £300.
Going to play with my spreadsheet and see what it looks like.MARCH 2016 DEBT £25750/ £25035
