  • Carole - have you heard anything back from anyone about this? How do you cancel this subscription? Please can anyone advise the best way of sorting this - I am really worried!
  • Having signed up for the free trial myself last night then noticing today that the money has been `ringfenced` in my account (the £90 for the 3 months they sign you up for if you don't cancel the free trial is still there, but for the next 7 days they can either take it or leave it and I can do nothing). I have emailed their info@ email address to request cancellation, as well as filled in their onsite feedback form. I've spoken to my building society and explained the situation and was told that, as long as I keep details of my correspondance with Be2 and my attempts to cancel the trial period and avoid being billed, I should be able to make a claim with VISA to get the money refunded if they do indeed take it.
I also found a partial description on another forum about how to get to their cancellation form as the one they tell you to use on the website has the cancel membership button missing.

Go to "Support" at the bottom of the page.
Type "Cancel" in the search box that appears and hit the enter key.
Click on the "How can I cancel my Premium Membership" link that appears
I believe there is then a link at the bottom of the page that opens that you need to click on.
Then go to “Premium Membership and payment” and then click “Payment”.
Scroll down and click a link at the end that says "ending your Premium Membership online here"
Hit the "Continue" button, then you should be able to cancel.

This is as far as I've got. I have received confirmation of my cancellation via email, and as I am well within both the 7 day cooling off period and the 9 days you have to cancel the 10 day trial (you have to cancel 1 day before the trial ends) this should be the last I hear of it.

Plenty of free dating sites out there chaps and chapesses

    plentyoffish.com
    freedating.co.uk
    flirtbox.co.uk
    smooch.com

And a whole raft of others, there's absolutely no need to pay
for such a service, and those sites that claim to offer a trial,
really shouldn't charge, if they had any faith in their service
then surely you would be happy to setup a subscription after
you have tried it, and sites that claim to be able to 'match' you
to people, or help you to 'find your perfect partner' etc etc are
    all just a marketing gimmick.

Ive always been cynical of paid dating sites, not that I'm suggesting
the site in this thread does this, but there are a few around that
the women get a free subscription and other incentives to join and
'contact' people. Much the same as professional 'bloggers' get paid to
    post various things around.
  • Indeed there are lots of free sites available. I find Okcupid interesting as it has a blog where it examines observations and statistics. Some of it's just for fun but some of it can be useful to improve the pictures you have on your profile or write better messages.
I only signed up to Be2 as it was through an app on facebook and gave me an incentive to sign up for the free trial.
  • Hey Frank could you please send me the email for this CEO as i have just lost 90 pounds fro be2 even though i am supposed to be on a ten day free trial starting today. I can't believe they have taken the money already!! I now know its a scam and really could do with the email and what you said get your funds back as currently i can no longer afford rent.

    Thanks SamPreston11
after 3 years yes three years realised they have taken payment after payment of 181.97 3 times for a £5 trial I had one sunday afternoon. I have been married for a year - not from this site I hasten to ad they owe me nearly £600 and may be more as I havnt completely checked any more payments they have simply misued my card and as far as I am concerned stolen from my account. They are now sending debt collectors letters in order yep you,ve guessed it - another £181.97 what a joke. No company phone number nothing please can you give me any help so I can get some of my money back spoke to the debt collection people who seemed surprised, surprised as if they didn't know. someone needs to stop this any international solicitors doing pro-bono work out there. If I could do it I would someone is getting fat off the back of this karen
  • I too signed up to Be2 on Monday and have unfortunately only read forums on Be2 and how bad they were after I completed membership for £5 trial. I immediately wanted to cancel but this has been made almost impossible by this website which calls itself an online dating agency. I have sent over ten emails, cancelled my credit card and had to send a signed notice to get an email confirming my membership had been cancelled. I've threatened Be2 with the financial ombudsman and the police. This website must be deleted from the world wide web. I'm happy to start campaigning to do this if others will join me.
  • I didn't even get that far because the website wouldn't give me this option. I harassed with my email after email even when they said they would try to respond to my query within three working days I carried on until I received a confirmation email that my membership had been cancelled. This website is a huge scam and something needs to be done to stop it now !!!!
  • Dear Martin,:money:

Any chance you could take on this company for us?!

I had the "good fortune" to have fraud committed on my account some years ago so the £150 they want did not leave my account. I gave them notice more than two weeks before the contract came into effect, and I finally managed to fax them two days before the cancellation date (I was sweating bullets as I could not find out how to cancel). They are now threatening the debt collectors.

I am trying to find out if I can get rid of this bad mark against my name, and the debt collectors, but they are a huge company.

    Please help!!
  • I'd be happy to work with anyone else to get these people stopped

I cannot find anywhere on the site to cancel my membership, they will not cancel on the phone, sent several emails but to no avail. I really need that £90 back just dont know what to do. Ive gone from being angry to just crying my eyes out as this money was my rent. Can anyone help !!!

Could I too have that CEO email as I have been scammed £90 for my 10 free trial too. I joined Friday and they took my money immediately, have tried calling emailing and cancelling on computer to no avail. I think this is absolutely disgusting. I now cannot pay my rent !!!.
