Advice on Child Maintenance please!

hi i am havin to pay csa, my hours have been cut from work to 19 and need to no how much money csa have to leave you every week as sure there a limit to how much they must leave u to live on, can anybody help me

Sorry I've not read the whole thread....is he named on the birth cert? And if he even is not has he been paying support via the CSA?

I've been PMing someone who has had a DNA with the CSA and it seems to be really quick....results were in within a week

No, his name isn't on anything as he didn't want to know back then and the csa couldn't find him.

That's pretty quick, I'm not sure they will give him one tho, as if he volunteers all his paperwork when they write, then that's as good as admitting he is the father.

They take a certain percentage of your wages regardless of how much you are earning. They dont take rent, bills etc into account.

Had a text earlier from the NRP to let me know CSA had rung him on Sat. He is still going for a DNA test, but I can provide evidence that supports the fact he is the father (mainly texts he's sent).

Would it be worth me telling the CSA this?

No, it won't count for nothing, just go ahead with the test. My daughter looks more like me than her mum, still went ahead with the test though :j

Yeah I just had the conversation with the lady at the CSA, so its a waiting game now.

Still can't believe he's doing it.... trying my best not to send a text message telling him exactly how I feel!!!

I can, but that is for a seperate thread, if the situation falls outside the criteria for assumed paternity, then a test is the next step, they are not painful or harmful (physically) and will only cost you travel and perhaps some passport sized pictures, you have nothing to lose but something to gain

This is the thing, previous to the CSA being mentioned he was wanting his name on birth cert, to be called dad and wants my son to be page boy at his wedding! but just because he wouldn't provide info on wages which meant we couldn't agree on a figure, he told me to let the CSA sort it out, he's now just delaying things. And hasn't asked to see the boy. Silly really as it'll just build up arrears.... :wall:
