Hi,
I am looking at upgrading my current acer laptop to a new one and was wondering what peoples views are on the Apple Macbook.
I need something with a fast processor and memory as I do alot of downloading and use alot of applications?
I'm not too bothered about the size of the harddrive as I have a 320gb external one although I do alot of streaming blu-ray films from my laptop to my PS3.
Are the Macbook applications user friendly as I am only used to using windows and internet explorer?
Thanks

Mac doesn't have Blue Ray unless you are downloading Blue Ray films from the internet is that correct?0

See if you can have a play with one to see what you think
I personally wont be buying a windows based machine in the future. We all evolve - get on with it0 -
Unless you install windows on your Mac which rather defeats the main reason to buy one (unless you simply like shiny) or install a windows virtual machine then it won't run your "lots of windows applications". There will be equivalents of course but that will almost certainly involve buying them.0

What is the operating software like?
Would you say a Mac can do everything a regular laptop with Windows on would do?
How user friendly is the Web Browser?0 -
The current OS is fine.
MACs and Windows based machines do very similar things in different ways
The default browser is Safari, which you can stick on your windows machine to play with if you wish.
My OH uses Safari and Firefox
Depends what you want to do - you say you only use windows and internet explorer which is like saying you only use Leopard and Safari
Doesn't really say what sort of programmes you use the most, or need the mostWe all evolve - get on with it0 -
Generally I use alot of non microsoft applications eg I use video converting software to watch movies via streaming through my ps3.
Will this run faster on a Mac with them having duo processors?
The only other main microsoft applications I use is Excel but I suppose I could get an equivalent to this?

Surely it is the ps3 that is the limiting factor if you are streaming through its web interface - or are you doing it some other way?
You can get MS Office for MAC.We all evolve - get on with it0 -

Just like Windows, you have various options including Microsoft Office for the Mac itself.0 -
