...On top of that, my dad's friend [a farmer] gave him some pheasants yesterday, so he's going to sort them out and bring one over tomorrow. No idea what I will do with it yet...
We had pheasant Normandy (a very pretty boy pheasant from my BF's hubby) on Sunday evening, it's a Two Fat Ladies recipe with apples, calvados and cream and it was scrummy :drool:0 -
Hi, I seem to be having one of those weeks, where you run round in circles not achieving very much! I was hardly in yesterday, I did manage to take some papers to the solicitors, get the car MOT, and arrange a mortgage.. This morning I ended up driving the kids to school as it was raining/snowing. I then went to Sainsburys for some food. It was a nightmare as they had closed half the carpark!
Dinner tonight is Hairy Bikers Fish cakes (we were going to have them tomorrow but the fish I bought is best before today:mad:.) I'm out tonight at my quilting class.
Tomorrow is dS2 class assembly which I'm going to. I also need to get more stuff printed out for work.
HUGS to all that need them0 -
Hi all, late for me today.I went in town as its DS1 30th birthday on Thursday and I wanted to get a nice card for him.I'd not been in much above half an hour when DH rang to say they had been rained off,and he would come to meet me and we could have some lunch. So thats what we did,and very nice too.Afterwards he took me to Sainsbugs-I needed some stuff to make some cakes for the birthday boy, which I'll prob do tomorrow. We asked if he was going out,or did he want to eat out with us,or pick what to eat for tea,so in true OS style he 's plumped for tea in,but will go to the pub with a few mates,as he has a bigger night planned on Saturday when they are going to Manchester.
I treated myself to a new top and jeans while out :j,only Primark, but look ok.Well better get some tea sorted for the lads,we're not hungry due to our lunch,so will just have some soup later.
AngUK- glad you felt comforted by seeing DH,I'm sure he heard you.(((Hugs to you all)))
Purpleivy- your poor finger, hope it eases soon.
Aplacein thesun- thanks,we haven't heard from the estate agent as yet, perhaps the couple are still thinking about it.Hope you enjoy chatting with your friend.
BB-I'm sure most OSers had a smile at that joke, loved it.
Rachel-((Hugs to you all)) what a shock.Glad she is going to be ok.
Have a good evening folks

Evening everyone
It has been my 1st dayback at work today after 2 1/2 months, I feel so tired and drained, got another 4 days to do yet. Ds2 went back to school yesterday and appears to have settled back in quite well and is working too which is a bonus, I'm sure the novelty will wear off quite quickly.
Took hm soup for lunch as trying not to spend too much on lunches again. Put a beef casserole in sc this morning for tea, will be having that shortly with jacket potatoes. WM on so will need to hang that up in a while. I am going to try and get organised and sort all work clothes out for the week then I am not having to think in a morning.
Have read through the thread but brain isnt coping with information today very well, system overload I think.
Anguk - Thoughts and prayers for you and your family. I am sure that your DH knew you were there.
Csarina - hope you arrived ok.
Molly - sending (((Hugs)))
MSD - Come back soon.
Purpleivy -hope your finger is soon better.
Taplady - hope your dh is feeling better.
Lowesy (((hugs))) to you and your DH
I am sure I have missed a few people.(((Hugs))) to anyone who needs or wants one. Take Care and enjoy the rest of your evening.

Evening all
I read thread whilst at work but didn't have time to reply then so apologies I can't remember details but (((hugs))) to whoever wants/needs them.
Hectic morning at work. My boss was meant to be taking me to our other office for a meeting, but turns out she had another meeting elsewhere first so had asked my colleagues to tell me to meet her there instead. But they forgot to tell me til about 20mins before!! Luckily I had my car with me today cos my minibus was in the garage still. Got to meeting 10mins late, but my boss was later than me!
Popped to Aldi on the way home. Got the 5kilo bag of spuds for 69p and some other stuff. Can't decide what to make for tea. Maybe jacket spud. Need to put DW on tonight and finish unpacking the shopping.
Have a good evening all

We are in!!!! Picture is of Traprain Law at sunset.
Sitting in the sitting room, wood burner crackeling surrounded by about 50 boxes still to be emptied, but our bed is made so we can have a good night sleep, and I have the tables up in my sewing room!!!
We arrived just after 9am and were given breakfast by Caroline, tea and bacon sandwiches.....I had just started mine when my phone rang, the removers were here.... OH went off with Kenneth whilst I stayed and talked to Caoline for a while.
The trailer had been partly unloaded into the garage and detatched, stuff was disappearing into the house at a fast rate. We had a bit if a hiccup getting hot water, but its ok now, I just have to get Kenneth to reset the central heating controls for us.
It was agreed that we can cut back the work surface in the kitchen so we can have the fridge freezer in there, both freezers are in the boot room until DS2 comes up in a couple of weeks, hopefully we will have unpacked some more boxes by then!!
I have not found the washing up liquid as yet......its in a box with the rest of the under sink stuff.....I have found the baking tins, they are in the cupboard.
I will have a shower tonight before we go to bed. We have to go out in the morning so no unpacking until after lunch, if then.........Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Evening all,
Had a busy day, put a 2nd coat of paint on the window sills and skirting in the conservatory it looks really good, just got to fill few gaps with painters mate then its all done.
Took Little dog over the woods for a run, and the second we left the house sleety rain started, we got soaked to the skin, little dog ran up stairs as soon as we got in, and I later discovered she had dried herself off on dd's sheet
so had to change that, It was only changed on sunday.
Mum popped in for coffee, which was nice, but she does insist that she knows best when it comes to decorating my house, she had been to a second hand furniture shop and reserved three floral conservatory chairs for me, I am not keen at all on floral
so I will not have them, I know she is only trying to help, but enough already
Mummysaver, poor Claude, hope her finger is ok xx
Anguk, hugs for you xx
Purpleivy, ouch hope your poor finger is ok xx
BB love the joke xx
Just had curry rice and naan bread for tea, and washed up, there was a portion of quorn curry left, which I will freeze once it has cooled down, it will do dd another day.
Have good evenings all xx0 -
Evening. Not read or posted for a couple of days due to work and just being generally behind with everything!
Happy belated birthday to n9eave, and happy birthday to (I think) jinksy.
Been round to a friends today, was lunch but went this morning and didn't leave til 3pm. Was really nice to catch up (and avoid doing housework for the day!). :rotfl:
Spent all day yesterday searching for a cheap summer holiday. Think I've found one, but luckily before booking it remembered I am changing my surname (back to maiden name, dropping second bit of double barelled bit). Passport has run out, so need to send relevent info for name change, and get bank cards changed etc, so don't know whether to book it now in what name will be, or wait til I've done passport and cards? Decisions decisions!!
Taxi service tonight, Tuesday is normally scouts night, but DS has a valentines disco at school, so got to drop him there, then DD to scouts, then collect her and collect hiom. Going to pop to tesco whilst they're there, as not done any shopping this week.0
