    Hi all

Next time I go out FR, I'll ask how much is an amaretto on it's own.

I think I must have a change in vibes since before the summer because I keep attracting people even yesterday in the card shop and in the pub. I was quite astounded.

Because of my pre-occupation with MM's visit and the fact that DS2 is coming home next Thursday and wants to do his usual pub lunches with me, I have practically forgotten that Christmas is next weekend and I'm really behind with the organising and buying..

CL I want to hear how you are doing.

NGlady, when you said DeMan is going back home - with his parents do you mean?

Ziggles what did you eat for the meal?

    FR, any plans for Tuesday?

I'm supposed to be out the rest of the day, really tired as I had another late night. My fault.

All is not well in the NGlady DEman camp unfortunatly, found out hes got an awful lot of debt and he is potentially going to loose his apartment (he apartment shares) and go back home. And a lot of other cra*s been going off and i just dont know anymore. but enough about that!

Sorry to hear of the problems you have had - at least you know about DEmans debt now, it is better knowing. Somethings can have solutions, other things you sometimes have to accept the way they are, try not to stress too much

  • Hi all,

    Been reading away...

Nice to see you FE. How are you doing? I do still have facebook, but I deleted the other account. I will PM you my new account. Will also PM to Anglea and NG!

Ang, from your account it sounds like your meeting with MM went well :) I would have been as nervous as you but you seem to deal with it well. That's good about not having to pay your fare, too!
What is amaretto? I've never tried it :S That may just be where I've been going wrong all these years...

I know you asked me a while back about going to pubs and drinking alcohol for maybe confidence-boosting reasons... but from experience, I know that I tend to make a fool of myself when I've had a drink. Last time I went to the pub with a friend I had two ciders and then I ended up blurting out all sorts. I think I left her with the impression that I'm an absolute nut job.

I'm going to a meal-type thing with entertainment next week, and already I'm dreading it. Like you ziggles, I worry about these things and then end up enjoying them once I get there. I hope this turns out the same!! still got to plan what to wear, etc... eek indeed.

    Belated happy birthday ziggles :)

And NG, nice to see you posting. Sorry to hear about DEman's predicament... I remember a while back you mentioned about his money situation (that he couldn't afford his fare or something?) Are you still getting on well with him?

    Hi girls

FR hope you enjoy seeing family on Tuesday, is the musuem the one where everyone is in costume?

CL, lovely to hear from you.

This is the amaretto I like -

Yes, I think you need to buy a bottle, you never know your luck afterwards :).

As for you blurting out all sorts after a few drinks - your friend might not have been shocked in thinking you were weird, but surprised that you disclosed things you normally keep hidden. .

Next week - are you dreading it because there will be a crowd or you would it still be a problem with even a few?

    Hi Anglea

Yes the museum is an open air museum built like a village containing streets with relocated buildings, including houses, shops, a chapel and a school and various others and people are dressed appropriately - 1850's to 1950's. I have been there a couple of times, but it is being added to all the time. It also has a 1930's fairground and a mine.

Regarding Amaretto, Disaronno was the one which I had last night - the one I bought Bym was from Selfridges which was made from real almonds, and therefore more expensive. I bought a small bottle which was filled from a larger bottle of Amaretto. I must get myself some when I visit Birmingham again.

Bym has still not replied to my email - I think it is time for another text

Yes, that is exactly the place I mean! I will have to try that champagne next time I am there.

I love going to Selfridges when I go to Birmingham. I always try to eat at the noddle bar, where I have the Thai green curry. One day I keep saying I will have a drink at the champagne bar - but I think that has changed, will check it out next time. Seems so decadent to do that.

Frog, I know what you mean, I always consider it when I go to manchester selfridges - theres a proper champagne bar near the designer clothes and it just overlooks manchester and itd be lovely to go at dusk..

Unfortuantly - in Bham, they dont have the champagne bar now i dont think. On saturday, there was the Indian one and the cake one - but where the champagne was, its now just shelves etc for xmas, whether or not itll return after xmas - but it seems odd to me, to get rid of something so decadent on the run up to xmas, where people are prepared to splash out more!!

Iv been to the noodle bar before - I did enjoy it :) I am a preferer of wagamamas though really. I do enjoy going to the yo sushi stand there though.

    YAY selfridges.

I dont particually like the london selfridges though - feels a little more snobish!!

What do you think to the jelly bean big animal thing - 20,000k for that. Would you pay £20 thou for that? lol. I wouldnt.
