Reformed shopaholic? please can you give me the benefit of your advice

I had a slow start -maybe because I went to bed very late. Will be washing my hair (how exciting) then with ex. for the day. If I remember I'll ask him to take down the Christmas decs from the loft.

Hi all

All things considering the party went well

I read a couple of poems at the soiree bit at the start, the second one I read was a bit long in hindsight and as I came to the end of it people were coming in and out of the door and I got no response to it! I should have been more organised and chosen better. But there was also some lovely acoustic music being played, the usual guitars but there was also an Iranian guy with a couple of instruments I cannot even pronounce. Will look them up on google later.

I took a bottle of chardonney which I had around in the fridge and don't even drink but though someone would. I took a couple of small bottles of sparkling wine for myself - even that was too much - combinded with that and loads of nuts/crisps which on offer I came back in the morning with a very unhappy tummy!

However, back in the kitchen at the party (where else) I spent a lot of the night chatting with 3 women - mostly about men and how awful they are/can be! I showed one of the women photos of Bym and 'the muse', they travel everywhere with me.

It was a lovely evening really, quite late two guys turned up who I knew from open mic's, and at the end of the party, about two-thirty they gave me a lift home - one hadn't been drinking - the other had been enjoying my chardonney, said it was lovely!

I went to bed at about 5.30. Woken up this morning at 11 with a text from Bym who 'may' visit tomorrow afternoon. So after a few texts between us, I mentally calculated what needed to be done if he does come, and went back to sleep again! I do have a few concerns about him, which I am trying to put to the back of my mind. Maybe things will become clearer when I see him again - at least I need to know what he wants from me, a relationship, friendship, FWB?

I have checked out the Iranian musical instruments

One was a Santur (a three-octave wooden-hammered dulcimer), and the other a Kamancheh (a bowed lute)

I think I might befriend the guy on facebook, I have met him before at an open mic night (no longer exists), he remembered hearing my poems from there but had not remembered my name, or me his.

Sounds as though you had a good time. What did you choose to wear?

And possibly met some new friends - the men and the ladies - did you know them before?

Hope your tummy has settled down.

We'll be waiting for details about BYM.

On my return this evening I found an email from MM, we'll be skyping later. I told ex not to phone me on Thursday when MM will be visiting. He asked if MM is staying overnight

Short black skirt and tights, red and white checked top, low cut - drew a comment from a young female friend who said she would not wear anything like that! Said she didn't know where to look! Should I have cared? I love wearing that combination of clothes. And she and the hostess were wearing very short flimsy dresses leaving little to the imagination. Women are so much more critical than men I find

The women I was chatting too I hadn't met before, most of the men I didn't know either. But a few men and women I had met before.

I have to let my ex housemate know not to call over unexpected tomorrow - if indeed Bym does decide he can come. I will be expecting Bym to want to stay overnight - he did say that the next time he came he would try and stay a couple of days, but not sure if it will be this time.

Central heating guy is due to come over between 1 and 5 tomorrow afternoon, I wouldn't have chosen that day if I had known Bym might be coming - hope he comes earlier rather than late. Bym may have to make his own way here from the station

It's good that you can wear what you want without feeling you need permission FR. I bet the men liked your outfit Women can be catty. I like that colour combination.

Central heating guy - I rang mine last week and left a message, no reply so far. I'm hoping he won't say the only day before Xmas will be when MM is here. I'll have to put him off if that happens.

Let's hope your male friend also stays away.

One of my male friends did say he liked what I was wearing

Other friend will stay away if I ask him to - he knows about Bym, and is always asking my advice about his love life. Last time he wanted to know what to do as two girls wanted to see him on the same day! Neither of them is a girlfriend yet, but he is more interested in one than the other. He's had a few girlfriends in the couple of years I have known him.

I have just had a central heating service, £55, but althought my main room is always warm, my bedroom is quite cold unless the heating is on continually for days in which the main room is like a sauna. Don't think the thermostats are working right!

There are no radiators, it is underfloor heating.

When he came last week he took air out of the system - the water pressure was low so he sorted that out. I have a heated towel rail in the bathroom and that now is hot - that was cold before due to air in the system.

You might need BYM to keep you warm if the central heating guy doesn't arrive
