I go to both Waitrose and the library, must keep my eyes open more! Last chap I spoke to in Waitrose was buying something for his wife, that was a pity - he looked really nice and was buying pizza and wine.

How are you all getting on with Christmas preparations?

I've just written a ginormous list what needs to be done in the next few weeks.

I'm also seeing MM next week could be the reason I'm eating more than I have been lately.

FR, you might need to change your vibe to attract people locally eg you've already got BYM and the others liking you so use that to make yourself feel confident and believe that men are interested in you.

I think it is two fold. I am more confident on holiday, I was not looking for anyone in 2009 and I was very surprised when I found I was attracting male attention.

But I don't seem to be meeting any potential b/friends here at all - that is why I started using dating sites. However they can leave you feeling frustrated too. The muse said that the majority of the women on the site where we met were 'fake' but didn't elaborate on what he meant by that.

I have been asked out by one man locally, but I could only see him as a friend, not really my type and he didn't persue it.

The only other one was a guy, from portugal, who I had met previously at one of the open mic nights I go to - he gave me a lift home one night with his friend - but he dropped the friend off first and made it clear he wanted to spend the night with me. He wasn't happy when I said no to that and I ended up flying out of his van, and into my apartment and he was already out locking the van. But after a bit he drove off and I only saw him once after that and he didn't speak to me again!

Hi all - how are you?

FR, it's a shame you didn't have any good experiences locally, that last one sounded a bit scary.

I had a very late night indeed as MM was delayed talking to me last night, we didn't start until 1am and continued until about 4.30 am

He told me that he planned to play a trick on me when we meet next week. This got me panicky because even though I love jokes, this first visit was getting me nervous so I was really on edge worrying what he might do.

Eventually I made him tell me and I was laughing my head off as it was really funny. However, I'm glad that he isn't doing it because it could have been really unnerviing as he was going to do it on the doorstep for that first time I would see him when I opened the door. It's making me laugh even now as I'm writing it.

My my Anglea- 4.30am.! And does this mean he's coming to your house? Have you met him before in person...is he staying over? How long is he visiting for? And most importantly what are you wearing?

Today I got some long avoided errands done- reading glasses ordered (for the last few weeks I've had trouble reading things I think it's all these late nights), finances, airmail. Need to do some more tomorrow.

I am on a financial sensibility hiatus...i can't seem to get a control of my spending at all.
So muvch for moving out here to save a bit of money. FWB is now almoswt a 40mile round trip- so savigns lost with 2 visits a amonth.
i hjust had dinner with a friend- wholely unsatisfactory as i had something i wanted to talk about but she didn't even mention it. You know when people make you feel like you have a problem when they have a problem....yup that's what's going on here- only- it appears that one of us seems to be projecting- and i'm not entirely sure who now....All i know is that this relationship is not working very well just now and i seem to be the only one who want to sort it out.
I've not been very productive at work for weeks- i really need to get a more positive attitude there but i can't seem to get my finger out- especially at this time of year- i seem to spend my time googling xmas pressies! When they finally check my internet activity i'll be looking for a new job!
In other surprising news- Dad called at 5pm to check if i was ok cos of the weather- i've been in the office all day dad- what do you think. i do live 8 miles out of town though so its nice of him to be concerned- not usually his style at all. I think hes worried about my living situation. Not invited them to see/visit/eat yet!

I have only ever travelled to see 'the muse', though not as regular as you with FWB. I could understand it if he wanted me to see him as my FWB, but I don't know what he sees me as. I am sure I need him in my life more than he needs me.

Re finances. Begin a new chapter in 2012, so long as you are recording your spending you will know where your money is going even if you don't seem in control of it at the moment. I have spent £150 a week more than my income over this last year - yikes! But I know exactly where it has gone - some was planned, some not. But it's ok, as that is what my savings are there for at the moment.
