I stopped using it daily after meeting mystery man :)

I'm very intrigued about your mystery man. Someone from MSE, you said. And you are meeting in December, will that be your first meet?

    Evening,
You lot have been nattering away... I can't keep up.
I did a really stupid thing and drank two big bottles of Powerade, not realising that it has a high caffeine content until I'd almost finished the second bottle. Bet I don't sleep a wink tonight :S Oh well!

Ziggles - I don't understand your Tesco fiasco. Do you have vouchers specifically to spend in a certain area of the store?

NG is the Nottingham postcode, I know that as my friend lives in Notts. But I dunno if that's what NG's username refers to!

NG I hope things with DEman are going ok??

My username is pretty self-explanatory :P For the most part, I roam through life feeling completely lost.... Seems like just when things are going ok, something gets in the way and I lose track of where I was. Hence "completely lost"! :)

A meet up in the summer sounds good, and I will make sure I wear the most offensively patterned cardigan that I own for the occasion ;) (I was thinking I would wear my camel and black one with horses printed on it.. or maybe even that jumper :rotfl:)

If you don't sleep tonight CL, you are likely to find either I or Anglea on here!

I don't have any patterned jumpers, so I will raise you a pirate's outfit. I wore one at the family do this weekend, there was a suggestion that it could be fancy dress but only 3 of us dressed up! I had bought it to take to Turkey as it was suggested that I and 2 others dressed up as pirates and boarded the many boats that are there on the river - but it didn't happen :(

    Hi all

Yes, we have been chatting a lot on here lately makes up for the quiet times.

LOL a pirate's outfit FR, and CL's horse pattern jumper and the one with bunnies you mentioned before. I don't have anything like that.........yet! :)

Two large bottles of powerade? Didn't that make you burp CL?

FR - mystery man - all very unexpected to say the least. I did meet him on MSE in August and we've been speaking on the phone and emailing ever since -not much at the moment as he's in the process of moving that's why I'm back on the game thread.
  • My you lot are busy!
Yes i got my throw- well 2 of them. It was that clubcard exchange CL. The idiots class a heated throw as a small electrical item but a normal throw or electric blanket are cook, dine and home- which i changed my vouchers for. i got the £40 on a moneycard in store but as it's limited to a specific department- i had to get 2 throws as you have to spend equal to or more than the amont of the vouchers- I know stupid right!
I am almost at the stage of boycotting Tatco. They really are the pits- too high a market share here!!!!!!!!!
Anyhow- please elaborate on the NG thing! Some of us are clueless.
CL- 2 big bottles- you'll never sleep becasuse of having to pee all night, never mind the caffeine!
I'm annoyed with a friend- i can't get it right with her just now- she just seems so sensitive to everything i say- i got annoyed at how she spelled my name on a card- i've known her ages- how could she get it wrong! So she gets all defensive about me not being grateful for the gift the card accompanied. I want to confirm we're meeting on thursday- she says would it not be better for ME to re-schedule (i suggested meeting at 7 as opposed to usual 5.30 slot)- i was giving the time and i had chosen the day. I mean like !!!!!!! All my friends are annoying me just now.
So i just ate a box of fingers!:(

    Hi all

Ziggles, box of fingers - fish or chocolate? :)

I just ate an unnecesssary coleslaw and corned beef sandwich.

Poor you, sounds as though you're getting stressed with throws and friends. How about a nice spotty cardie to make you better? :)

Anglea, just reading this at one time would have sent me to my cupboard and get out my box of chocolate fingers.

I really am managing quite well without chocolate, I believe it takes about 3 weeks for the cravings to end. Luckily when I set myself a challenge I hate to lose. Losing weight though is still really difficult, so it has to be a long term challenge. I want to lose 2 stone and think it will take at least a year - so I will aim to be a stone less by the end of June.

  • Hey Frog- i believe in the 21 days to a new habit formation thing. I jst have never managed it.
Anglea- I am really stressed out about friends at the mo- hence all the eating. I'm ready to just jack the lot of them in. Some only want to fit me in after all their other stuff is taken care of or need a moan. Others are just too much work- i.e. i am constantly reigning myself in to protect their sensitivities. And others i feel our time is up. I'm not a natural loner but over the last 5-6 years i have become very comfortable with myself- and dip in and out of 'social life' when the mood/need arises.
I read somewhere that 'we become the most hurt when our expectations (of others) are not met'. And yup my expectations though based on my own behavior and standards are not being met.
I think i may just have some ideas about what needs to be changed in 2012 now....

    Hi again

Ziggles I can relate to the friends situation. I gave up socialising years ago - what I mean by that is people I ring up and arrange to see.

I know hundreds of people where I live so have loads of accidental meet ups and I also talk to strangers easily. I go to a weekly craft and art club, been going for nearly 20 years so always have a good talk when I'm there.

But I don't make arrangements even with one of my oldest friends because she used to let me down every single time. So now I'm happy to talk to her in the street or if she gives me a lift we talk for ages in the car, but I never agree a pre-arranged visit.

Mum often says I'm too fussy and isolate myself but I don't see the point in being with someone who complaining non stop or they let you down. Some people don't even say hello but launch into their problems for hours, I often feel like I'm a piece of furniture :(

That's why our relationships on here are a breath of fresh air :)

    Hi my lovelies

Strange not to see Fr on here especially in the evening.

I took part in a challenge today - no reading, music, computer, phone etc for over 12 hours - I had do make one necessary call to mum.

Whilst thinking what I can do that didn't mean picking up a book or turning on a computer so I decided to re-read MM's love letter to me - and it wasn't until afterwards that I realised I'd just messed up the challenge as I was reading :)

but apart from that I got over 12 hours before I went online.

In that time I tackled a nasty and long avoided decluttering project - understairs shoe racks and the coat cupboard. I threw out lots of old shoes and sandals and found it really hard to part with anything else. One of my old favourite jackets was full of dust and I've put it on the side to put in the recycling bin ........you know what that means.....serious indecision.

I'm now considering taking in my new jeans, they seem too nice to give away yet they are much too big. Today they felt really uncomfortable when I wore them. I have taken jeans in before and sewn them by hand but these ones aren't that simple as there is a lining inside which I've never come across before.
