I just asked a question on the marriage/family board- not a good idea. I knew it was silly- i should have asked you guys n here where it's nice and safe.
Feel really stupid now- feel free to go and take a look and add your opinion.:o

It sounds as if you no longer feel part of the family - home is somewhere where we feel we should feel safe and things are familiar and it is a shock to find things have changed when we are not looking.

I married a few months after my mother got married again and I am pleased that she was living in a different house to my childhood one as it never seemed to be my home.

    Hi all

Ziggles, your post on the other board. I think you might have had more favourable replies if you had said you are living in a house share situation similar to being at Uni. so you'd be going back home for overnight visits or even back for good.

It would be a different matter if you had bought your own house and moved a long distance and taken all your possessions. Even so, your parents would know that you'd want to stay for a while so need to move that junk out of your room for the duration of the visit. Did you give them advance warning?

It does sound as though they are overwhelmed with clutter if it's all in your room as well as in the shed.

As for the kitchen items, have you asked what you can take?

I felt swamped with clutter after DS1 arrived home unexpectedly in the summer after previously telling me he wasn't coming back at all this year. The whole house was like a warehouse.

    Hi ladies,
    Sorry for lack of posting.
Yes Anglea, it's nice to come on here for a bit of lighter conversation. Everyone is talking funerals, going away for xmas, etc... I'm just not in the mood.

I ended up shopping on Thurs. Bought a few things - 1 very itchy jumper, 1 cardigan which on reflection is too big and too expensive so will probs be returned, and some nice underwear sets from Primark (of all places). Primark undies are becoming much better quality - as good as the last lot that I bought from Debenhams.

How old is too old to be wearing things with cutesy animals printed on them????

Ziggles, I don't know why people were so harsh on your thread. I can understand why it might have overwhelmed you when you saw your old room had turned into the junk room. Although I'm not sure it would bother me, it's easy to get sentimental over things once you have moved on, so don't feel silly xxxx

Also... please don't hurt me, but I didn't think that cardigan was that bad :o:o I've had much more offensive cardigans in the past. Leanne Battersby always wears them in Corrie and I think she suits them :p

ETA: I forgot to say congratulations on your weight loss ziggles. Keep at it - you will feel amazing.

And Anglea, the wardrobe declutter didn't really reveal anything new but it does make me realise that I buy so much odd stuff... my age old problem is that I never have any tops to match bottoms!

    Hi all

CL thanks for the update. You need a good shopping session to feel better.

Iitchy jumper :) So you're returning it I presume? (I hope so)

People all ages have items related to animals. Remember that woman I had a couple of meetings with in the summer.. There was one strange conversation when she described her latest online purchases. I didn't say anything but I was stunned as she described her slippers

I've got exactly the same wardrobe dilemma CL, I can't get a decent cardie - buttons or zip - in the right colours that suit me. And any long tops don't look right with jeans either because of the style or fabric or cut although they seemed ideal on the hanger :(
  • I've actually been wearing the itchy jumper and it's really warm and cosy, and I'm getting used to the itchiness :S Plus if I don't wear it much, I can sell it... someone on ebay trying to sell one for £35 (it only cost £14!!!) At least it's a bit different to what I usually wear:
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270851348038&clk_rvr_id=285919097056&mfe=sidebar
I know ziggles will hate it ;)

I'm starting to think that long tops don't look all that good on me. I used to wear tops so long that they covered my bum, but now I think they look better shorter. And shirts look better tucked in with a long cardigan, although I haven't been brave enough to wear them like this.

It's amazing I have so many clothes and can't find a single outfit to wear *sigh*
  • Haha CL. i would rather be left to die of hypothermia than wear that. In private i might us it as something to sleep in or keep my wardrobe warm and take out occassionally and laugh/shake my head at it but that is it I'm sorry:D

As for that question on the other board- i shall not be doing that again- for some inexplicable reason something that has been bugging me for ages escaped out of my mind and found it's way onto a public forum- every answer serves me right- i really am being unreasonable- i am welcome here whenever i want, where i sleep is irrelevant. We'l see after tonight- guess where i am now :p

CL- i prefer long tops- they make me feel like at least my muffin top won't be seen in public or when i bend over or sit. Plus it makes me look thinner.
As for to old for bunnies and stuff- NEVER!

    Hi all

The link was taking too long to connect so it wouldn't load, so I can't see what CL has dared to buy :)

Today I had a surprise, DS came home unexpectedly after avoiding to make contact all week (he was supposed to say if he was arriving or not) and we went to the pub. I decided to put on my new jeans and they nearly fell off me, because of the weight I lost. Found another new pair and they fit better, and I wore a shortish top with them so occasionally it rose up and exposed my stomach.

I feel a bit tipsy now :) and I am just rounding off the evening with amaretto and coffee.

Be afraid of the link, Anglea, be very afraid ;)

Re: Amaretto - I have never had any but Bym says it is lovely, so I was wondering whether to get some in. I love Amaretto biscuits.

You've brought me luck too, as I was typing this he's just texted me!

    Hi all

FR, Amaretto is the only drink apart from cider I can have without getting a migraine. It is very moreish so be warned it can disappear quicker than you imagine.

CL and the link - probably a good idea I couldn't access it if there's a warning from FR :)

I want to see you with a decent bloke FR. Does BYM come and see you?

The short answer is yes, but it's only been the one time so far. He's out of the country again at the moment and is due back next month when we will arrange to meet up again.

So our relationship, if you can call it that, is still in it's early stages and only time will tell if it becomes anything more.
