  • CL- So sorry for your loss. it's very hard, even more so when sudden.
Take these ladies' advice- don't even think about being the 'strong one' if you don't have to. Be loved and cared for as much as you can. It helps. Remember to only deal with things day by day.
Will be praying for yo and yours.

  • Thanks ladies, I appreciate all of your kind words so much.
We have more of an idea of what happened (family insisted on speaking to the consultant in charge that day as things didn't make sense) so now my mind is more settled. It really couldn't have been helped, predicted, or prevented.

I haven't cried all day, which is odd. I can talk about it like it's not happening to me, and think I upset someone earlier with my graphic description of what happened

Anglea I can totally understand you going into declutter mode - anything to distract you from thinking about the person or what happened, right? It's funny because I actually organised my wardrobe today - something which I never do! It's amazing, you should see it!

NG I totally appreciate that we all deal with it differently. I admire how strong evertyone is being.

Tomorrow I'm going into the city with my mum, as she has an appointment. I'll have a walk around as she'll be there a few hours. It'll be nice to get out for a bit, away from the house, really.

What are the rest of you up to? xx

    hi all

CL, thanks for telling us how your are feeling.. That state of shock and unreality is likely to be there for some weeks or even much longer.

Looking round the shops can hopefully make you forget everything for a while. I find that the change of energy in places like that can be a tonic if I'm feeling down.

Did you find anything new you could wear during your re-organising?

Today mostly went in a blur for me as I keep having a lot of very late night phone calls and I had to take a nap. It's also affected my eyesight as reading is becoming strained since the weekend.

Yesterday I was thinking of Ziggles when I looked at some Per Una cardigans trying to guess what she'd be saying :) Have to admit, they weren't the types I'd go for either. One of them was in lovely shades but had horizontal stripes and because of the style could have been unflattering.
  • Hi guys
I made it to Zumba today- woohoo- my lazy !!!! had fun too!
I lost 2.9lbs last week so am feeling motivated.:j
@CL- glad you're going out tomorrow- agree with Anglea- chnge of location/atmospher always good. I spen the week p to my mum's funeral shopping- for food and lingerie would you believe...but it kept my mind of 'things' brilliantly.
As for you Ms Anglea- i would probaly have been making vomity signs and moaning loudly if you even approached anything looking like this one below- although i must say it is on the nicer end of the spectrum- it's often the 3/4 sleeved, wierdly high front, loose, big crazy buttons ones that make me come out in a rash:p

    Hi all

Ziggles the horizontal wasn't like that so I think smelling salts would be at the ready, however, a few pints of rough scrumpy would be necessary if you had seen the blue one :)

That was a bit strange to read about you buying lingerie in that situation although it might have been to make yourself feel better - a good idea.

I think if we ever all meet up I'm going to secretly arrange that we all turn up in striped, frilly cardies with outrageous buttons especially for Ziggles :)

On that subject, what do the rest of you cringe about?

For me it's less about clothes on the racks and more about who is wearing them. Some outfits look quite disturbing on the wrong shaped person.

There is another scenario. I had a very uncomfortable meeting last year with a female solicitor, middle aged, who had a young male trainee with her. I couldn't help but wonder if he could concentrate on the job with the way she was dressed, a tight shortish pencil skirt. I could hardly concentrate on what was being said as I was so suprised by her outfit.

Perhaps it's the uniform for solicitors because another one I met, also had a similar skirt but she didn't have the same energy about her, so it looked ok.

That sounds like it would be fun!

I don't think I cringe about any type of clothes, though the fashion which allows some people to show their thongs and muffin tops makes me squeamish!

I'm not really into trousers, I don't own a pair of jeans at all but that is just because I don't feel comfortable in them.

I've had a few comments in my time about my habit of wearing short skirts, this time of year I wear them with tights, but I can't ever see myself giving them up. I'm quite short myself, and I feel longer lengths just look silly on me.

    Hi all

I think we should all wear what we feel comfortable in, and if you like your short skirts than why not Frogletina.

You should have seen me today girls, I was laughing aloud to myself in the street after seeing the latest PU cardie. Horizontal stripes at the back and massive coloured circles at the front.

If they are made then probably they suit someone.

I think it would be the ideal Christmas pressie in a Secret Santa for Ziggles :)

CL I hope I'm cheering you up a little with these silly posts.

Today I was waiting for over 2 hours for the Xmas lights to be switched on, got the times wrong - palled up with a lot of strangers we had a laugh. Hands are so cold I can hardly type.
  • I would have to stop talking to you all if that was my secret santa pressie. Ooh gross.
I just asked a question on the marriage/family board- not a good idea. I knew it was silly- i should have asked you guys n here where it's nice and safe.
Feel really stupid now- feel free to go and take a look and add your opinion.:o
