Well, I keep finding more and more things to eBay...the listing process is underway, or at least I am photographing things at the moment.0

Legging dress = dress to wear with leggings
I love it because its red and summery without being too OTT - also love the necklineThis type of material is also really good for people like me with curves
cant find link of it on newlook
Ive got it on already - within 30 minutes of arriving home. VERY rare I buy stuff and dont do the old 'do i really really love it shall i return it' chain of thought
I'd love to have a really good Ebay clear out - Im not patient enough tho for what my stuff would actually fetch at auction!0 -
I was also wondering what a legging dress is. Makes perfect sense now...
Found some vintage Dior shades and a BNWT bikini to add to my selling pile, and loads more DVDs.0 -
Back from my birthday tea
Had to make a bit of a decision - I think im going to need to break into my money tinIm going away on Saturday for the night/day and i've under budgted so may have to start again with the money tin next month. I am going to try very hard not to have to tho
just debating whether id prefer to have to use some of my banked savings or the tin
At least with the banked savings I can use my bank card and keep it minimal, with the savings tin I would probably end up spending it all. However positive note is reason i've under budgted is i've sort of promised DEman an early bday pressie (his birthday is next month) so it wont be wasted, and ill be able to reacrew next month
Oh the debate of adulthood lol.0 -
NGlady, I would view it the other way round. A bank card is very light to carry around with you (and tempting) compared to a bag of loose change.0

You are very right Anglea - think i've managed to find a clever way round the puzzle
that neither benefits or disadvantages either liverpool or holiday saves. Will try and avoid either tho which will be the best case seneorio.
Btw. did you get my friend request on the big book?0 -
You've been added NGlady.
So what is your money solution?
What did you eat for your special tea?
FE did you get any new shoes?0 -
I was wondering where to post this!
I have the opposite problem so maybe some of you shopaholics can give me ideas what to spend money on!!! You see I was broke for years, then had to save money to enable my husband to retire, so I have been very careful with money for nearly 3 decades. Now that Mr B has finally retired and we have inherited a fairly substantial sum of money, I would like to treat myself to something, but can't think what to buy!!!
Don't say holidays / meals out because I dislike such things. I would love to attend some concerts but there is nothing suitable in our part of the country, anyway I am more than happy to listen to Radio 3 concerts at home on my superb hi-fi system. We are having our house renovated properly, although we are even economising by doing much of the work ourselves! Our huge wildlife garden needs to be tamed a little and made more interesting and cosy for ourselves, but we want to do this work ourselves.
Saving has become a habit, I'm afraid. At present we only spend around £700 per month, even though our home is fairly large and we have numerous animals to feed. The only thing I would like for myself is a constant supply of ripe mangos which are not available where we live! Mr B is having the loft converted into a room for his hobbies.
When I consider treating myself I think of all the charities that could make better use of the money, which I do not consider to be a healthy attitude.
Any ideas please?0 -
Hi Mrs B
If it was me in your situation I wouldn't be spending it on anything much until I gave myself some time to think. From what you've said, you've had years of being frugal and now you don't much fancy anything.
You can look online at websites like 43things.com where people have made lists of goals they want to achieve in their lifetime (sometimes called Bucket Lists) perhaps there is something you fancy doing that you haven't had the time or money to do before.
The thing about life is you never know what is round the corner, so even though you don't know what to do with it now before long something unexpected might have happened and you will be needing to use it, or else you might find a new purpose in life and decide to follow it.
Whatever you decide, don't let your new found wealth become a worry because then it's no different to worrying you haven't got enough.0 -
As Anglea said.
To be honest, im confused as to why anybody would go searching on 'debt free diaries' to find out how to spend more money - this diary admittedly isnt like the others anymore, but searching on that catagory to find that sort of information wouldn't be my normal chain of thought.0
