How are you doing?
Yesterday I spent a very long time on the form. It's all taking longer than expected because I didn't have everything up to date to begin with, so spent hours catching up and still haven't finished doing it. Then I can finally start the ougoings question.0 -
Hi ladies,
Sorry for the delayed response... I've been sooooo freaking tired it's unreal. Lost about 5lbs as we did so much walking/sweating when we were away, so I think that's contributed to the tiredness.
Good job with the forms, Anglea. I can imagine my brain would be in knots trying to fill out anything like that. Although I do try to keep everything in order, I still get stressed out.
The holiday... well basically, my parents booked a holiday and I decided at the last minute I wanted to go so I booked myself a ticket & hotel room. Luckily there were still spaces.
I enjoyed it anywayDidn't spend much as went half-board so had two meals a day in the hotel. Did a little shopping - bought two lovely leather bags, some jeggings, tops, and other little bits & pieces. I spent about £100-ish in the entire week which I thought was good going for me. I didn't have time to buy any new holiday clothes beforehand so ended up wearing the stuff I wore about 7 years ago when I went to turkey as a mere 17-yr old! Didn't get much of a tan as I'm not one for sitting in the sun (I burn so easily).
FE: wow I'm so jealous of your holiday win. I've tried for YEARS to win a holiday abroad, but it seems that I never will! I have won a lot of lovely things though, which I'm grateful for.0 -
Hi CL
Do you feel better about yourself now you've done something very impulsive?
I am wondering about the clothes, you're going to have to keep them all - no returns? I'm really glad you enjoyed yourself.
About winning a holiday. Do you ever look on the Magic Freebies site? For a while they've had something about a free holiday. If it's not there now, you might have go to their previous days pages.
The form. It is all taking longer than necessary because I wasn't up to date, and I used the figures for jan-dec 2010 until I realised they needed the last 12 months so I could get a reasonable estimate about future costs. So had to start again.
If I'm honest when I did my costs for 2010 at the end of the year, I never added up each month, I only did annual costs for each section, that way I couldn't be too shocked. Now I'm getting a reality check!!
All these calculations just for ONE QUESTION on a 40 page form LOL0 -
CL, I only just started entering holiday competitions in the last few weeks as I only got my passport last November and was too busy at the time to enter competitions. Just got very, very lucky. One forum user, Helga14, has won 6 this year alone!!!!
Anglea, do not use MagicFreebies; they are a big spam site...you'll get bombarded as they sell on your details.0 -
FE well done again.
I don't get the emails from Magic Freebies just look at the site daily, I prefer it to the others even MSE for that type of thing as it's very easy on the eye. I've never had any spam since using it.0 -
Fair enough...I signed up to them and it took me ages to extricate myself from all the random emails I was getting. I've had some brilliant freebies from MSE...there's a Lancome perfume sample just been posted which I am going to collect on my way to work today.0

Morning ladies
I am currently sat in the hairdressers having my hair done, i have so much tin foil in my hair having my highlights done that lady gaga would b proud that i look so odd haha. I am then off to have a manicure and pedicure and a fish therepy, that i brought from groupon worth 50 for a whole 12 woohoo so a really nice pamper day for me.
I got to go shopping tomororw as its my birthday next week and mum and dad are treating me tol a new watch for my birthday but cos my mujm cant get out to go get it iv got to go get it myself.. Looses a it of the special supriseness however iv always fancied a higher name watch so may look into putting some money towards it and having something special to keep. They offered me a dress but im always buying clothes so not as special
Talking of which iv unfortunatly done 300 refunds in the last week from a intnernet splurge i didnt need and couldnt justify. So i sent it back :-) plus i wasnt completely in love :-) my spending has really improved of late. Do seem to spend an awful lot on food tho which i need to deal with
Only treat/need iv got on my list is a really nice strapless black bra, my matalan and primark ones just arent working for me anmore, need to b remesured aswell.0 -
NGLADY what am I going to do with you??
300 refunds in a week
I hope you have a nice shopping day tomorrow and that your hair turns out looking nice.0 -
FE: I have been entering competitions since 2007 and never won a holiday. I'm quite selective about what I enter, but still, you'd think I'd have had at least one holiday win in five years! Never mind, most of the electronics I own have been wins, so it's not all bad
I have won from ITV on more than one occassion (just recently in fact), so I have no right to complain.
As for Magicfreebies... I know of people who have won from that site, but I know there are a lot of tick boxes to avoid when you enter anything via them!!
Anglea: Yeah I'm quite glad I went. Better to regret going than to regret NOT going, right?! That's how I looked at it (I only wish I could think like that about everything). As for returns, well, I wore the things I bought straight away - somehow when I'm on holiday, I'm a lot less worried about what I look like. I'll wear things I'd never consider if I was at home. The tops were only £3 so even if I wear them a handful of times I'm not bothered. And the trousers I bought are PERFECT - I had been looking for a pair like these forever but never found them in UK shops. And they were only £4.50!!! Also my bags will easily be sold if I get tired of them
NG: Aww bless, I hope your mum is recovering ok? Mine had setback so needs to be reassessed before they consider operating, as tests showed there might be complications with the original op she was going to have. At the end of the day it's nothing life-threatening, so it's no problem for her to wait.
Enjoy your pampering day, anyway. I'm not sure I could bring myself to do the fish pedicure... eeeek indeed! What sort of watch are you after? I bought a gorgeous Michael Kors one a few months ago but still haven't got round to getting the strap adjusted so can't even wear it!
I have lots of returns to do this week, from before I went on holiday. Also I have been stung by Littlewoods - I only just realised that they haven't refunded me for something that I returned about 5 weeks agoThis is one of the drawbacks of mass returning... I do wonder if this has ever happened before and I just haven't noticed. I need to keep better records of my returns.

CL and NG, if you're on Facebook, please PM me your name/a link so I can add you. (NG, I don't know your surname!)
CL, I'm selective too, although being honest, half of what I enter now is things I'd sell if I won as money is very much a problem for me at the moment.
NG, if my feet weren't so minging I'd get a pedicure done. Or maybe not, as I hate having my feet touched!!0
