    Hi Ziggles, CL

Frogletina - I presume is on her hols.

NGlady I'm having difficulties believing you will be giving up returns that easily. You'll probably have so much spare time on your hands when you're not trying on and taking back :)

My challenge for May didn't really get going, although now I have to start on an exceptionally detailed financial form (40 pages )

Oh dear Anglea, is that part of the divorce thing?

i know, ill have that much spare time I could probably take a second job hehe. . . I have got to be a little more careful with my buying online for a little while anyway, once mums had her operation she wont be able to carry anything heavier than 2lbs and nothing for long distances so she will struggle to get to the door etc and carry in. So... that will help!!

I think i'll probs always be one of those people who buys two sizes and takes home to return - hope i can stop that.

LOL NG... I also buy two sizes to try on at home... then 95% of the time I end up returning them both!

Aaaaaanyway, hello ladies. I have been reading but never did get round to replying :S

Anglea: I know solicitors fees are through the roof. I don't envy you on the form-filling, either :( I hope you manage to battle through it.

Your crisp alternative sounds... intriguing :S I have actually been hitting the crisps recently too. My addiction to barbecue rib crisps is out of control. I've also been drink faaaaaaaar too many energy drinks & lucozade, which is making me (more) moody. Food is my biggest spend this month.

Again, returns... best not go there. But I will anyway... this has been my worst month to date for returning things.
    This week alone:
    *£44 from two Next tops
*£111 ASOS order (loved one item but it was a bit tight)
    *£22 Littlewoods (shoes were faulty)
    *£20 Uniqlo

Like NG, I need to stop it with the returns as I forget that it's usually my mum who has to drive me to the post office and it costs her petrol - though I've been walking into town more these past few weeks, which puts me off the idea of returns when I realise how hard it is to carry everything back on foot, in the wind & heat! :o

I've even been buying on ebay, though most of the stuff I bought was only £1 plus p&p. So if it doesn't fit I can always resell it and haven't lost much.

    Hi CL - welcome back.

Yep I know what you mean - I tend to buy two sizes and convieniently fall right in the middle of the both lol. So often they do go back, i think tbh were not the only ones in this as shop assistants dont seem too fased lol.

Yes, its normally my boyfriend who has to take me to the shops to return items, which costs petrol and hes far too stubborn to take any parking money from me, so whilst it gives me money back its actually costing him money which isnt fair.

this week - last saturday to this saturday coming up:

    £55 dorothy perkins return
    £36 oasis return
    £10 primark return
£40 debenhams return - order was £80 kept the right sizes.
up to £140 dorothy perkins return dependent on what sizes fit me theres two pairs of shoes i really love in this order, hope they fit and 2 lovely dresses so really hopeing i dont have to do too much of a return on this one.
£10 debenhams skirt which trick photography made me think it was a yummy skirt but its really grose!

Going to do everything on Friday whilst im waiting for my mums op to be over - going to keep myself really busy, plus its payday so going to treat me and oh to a yummy breckfast.

really tierd tonight, just got home from work and being out with deman.

    right... night all :) x

    LOL

You two will be keeping Royal Mail going with all those parcels :rotfl:

CL I knew you liked Red Bull, didn't realise it was Lucozade as well.

I'm now addicted to those cornflake sandwiches LOL had them everyday, nearly run out of mustard! I know it's getting bad because I bought a small bag of Doritos in the week and put them into the sandwiches but didn't like them as much as the others.

I won't buy anymore mustard for a while in case it starts affecting my stomach. I don't think I've had those crisps you like CL, are they large bags?

    Good luck for tomorrow Nglady.

Thanks Ang - well it went ahead yesterday, there was a lot of waiting around for beds etc, but my mum was treated with uppermost care and respect whilst waiting, the operation was fine, did take her a little longer for her to come round than expected though so she was pretty groggy when I saw her last night, but I have got to say the hospital might be NHS but what shes getting is really impressive and what I would have expected from going private, so really makes paying my taxes this month worth it :)

My mum did have a little whisper to me last night- and it did stick with me. She wants me to sort my weight out a little bit, she attirubtes her weight to do with what shes had done and doesdnt want me in the same situation in my 60s. So this morning, my diet started :(

    Did my returns yesterday!!

Dead happy about something that happend. I originally paid £140 for my Dorothy perkins order, after discounts. I kept two pairs of shoes and a dress.... but the shop assistant forgot to take discounts off what I had returned, so returned me £120.... so basically, i got £78 worth for £20, this was two lovely pairs of summer flat sandals that I will wear (wore one yesterday!) and a dress that I feel so beautiful in! (£38) so dead happy about that!!

However a slight bit of the old me came to say hello. Instead of banking the rest which the new me would have done, cos i budgeted for it to be about £80 returned, i HAD to keep shopping.

Brought a denim dress - which is lovely, but its not really for me £15 - got to return.

and a flowery skirt from newlook - which ive decided to return. Was in the sale so knew I couldnt get a refund just exchange. So I was going to buy another item yesterday - but decided to wait until today for it, because, if i wanted to return the flowery skirt id need to part ex it for something else, so thats what im going to do :) plus got a 20% discount voucher.

Also brought a beautiful necklace and pair of earrings from Oasis - realllly pretty and goes so lovely with my new dress. Wore straight away in order for it not to be a wasted purchase.

So all in all - considering normally I return most of my purchases, i've done really well :)

    Hows everybody else? :) x

    Hi all

Nglady - I'm so glad that everything went ok for your mum and she is getting such good treatment. It must be good for you to see she's in capable hands.

Returns - I'm not surprised the assistant got muddled up LOL when she was dealing with your purchases.

I'll let you off your extra shopping after returns because of the family situation this weekend.

I was thinking about what your mum said to you, I never got the impression you had that much to lose so wondered why it could be such a problem.

If I had to give any advice based on my own experiences is that whatever you do that is a physical activity and I'm not even talking about a fitness workout but normal activity in the day, going up or downstairs in your house, walking to the bus stop, those kinds of things - if you do less of them or even stop, it can cause you to gain weight.

After the children were born I lost all the baby weight. However it very slowly crept back and my clothes were very tight and for a long time I couldn't work out why because I was eating the same.

Eventually I realised it was because my daily routines changed so walking less even though I was doing excercises. The same thing has happened again since I stopped that walking job, I've gained weight that I can't shift even though I can be very active at times.

Someone that is very slim and fit told me that since they moved from a 2 storey house to a bungalow they get pain in their knees every time they have to use the stairs anywhere.

So beware if you give up your shopping expeditions for any reason, you'll have to do all that walking in some other way!
