God Anglea, i could fit into most of them challanges! lol.
Think ill work on my no spend days, and also trying to save additional amounts throughout the month instead of only on payday. Also keeping my track on spending, also trying to use lloyds tsb money manager as much as I can :)
Still need to find a money tin - especially now i have a rather large pressie to buy deman for his birthday in July which Ive offered him without enough thought lol. A netbook, will b v beneficial to him and his career - and he is buying me something quite pricey for my birthday in June which id have brought myself anyway, so £220 - challange to save that without having to use my 'savings'

    Hi guys.
I've been awol cos i've all of a sudden developed a bit of a socail life- mostly involves saying yes and ACTUALLY doing things that i have said i will do and not chickening out cos i'm too lazy!
Sorry about BYM frogletina- i hope he comes up with the goods next time or we're gonna have to kick him to the kerb! lol!
@Anglea- I shall be taking up the no spend day and wirgh yourself and lose weight challenge.
I have already gone a bit mad and it's only 3 days since payday!!! But i hope to keep it simple this month if i ever want to get debt down and do more stuff when the weather is nice.
I would also like some advice- Would you go for price over speed re-mobile broadband. I tried O2 and it was great but it was by far the most expensive wa y to go. i now have Dad's vodafone dongle (Heehee) and it is slower but is by far the cheapest alternative. Where i can just get a new sim on ebay once a month. Not sure how to go but not in a hurry cos it's up to me to cancel dad's account so it's free for now.
Anyhow here's to very good MSE, sun shiny month for all of us!

Hi Zig - welcome back :) a nice social life is as good reason as any to go AWOL from us, providing you come back and give us updates ;)

I am also glad im not the only one to have gone a little over budget - thanks Kate and wills for the day off, but urgh an extra weekend day to pay for huh!

Regarding the broadband - my question would be - what will you use it for?

I think, if you just use it for day-to-day stuff. Such as chatting to your favorite friends on MSE, emails, chatroom/msn etc bit of internet shopping and general browsing - price over speed. You wont notice it that much on basic day to day browsing.

however, if you are intending to do much Iplayer etc - I would consider how much value you put on that. I have a slow connection, and whilst I can fully watch Iplayer etc, it is a little stally in areas. But thats ok for me as I don't watch it THAT much. But if you intend to use it as your general tv watching, I would possibly step into the middle of the speed vs price match.

If you are intending to do a lot of java games - you will be able to happily play the likes of cafeworld on facebook with a mediocer connection - but if you want to play computer games I think you would need a faster connection.

hows your love life then? :) any stories to report :D

    Hi all

I have good news to report!!!!!!!

BYM came over yesterday and I have just walked him back to the station. He was unsure whether to come for such a short time so my last message to him was to say I would leave it up to him and he went offline.

Imagine my surprise when I got a text to say he had got his ticket and telling me his arrival time!

All I am saying girls, is that we had a lovely time together - and I am hoping we will be see each other again soon.

Pick something you want to do achieve this month. Either from this list or your own idea.

    examples

    1. give up buying something
I do not need any more stocks of food - this month back to fresh veg, fruitjuices and milk
    2. weigh yourself and lose weight this month
I'm on the 5lb a month challenge (I never manage it)
    3. create a new budget
Yes, slight increase in income from this month
    4. save a set amount each week
I think I will save the extra income
    5. set up a £2 coin tin
    Oh - doing this already
    6. update your 2011 expenses
needs to be done - not completed April's yet
    7. file your paperwork
will do - I am behind with this
    8. update bank and saving accounts
again, will do - I am behind with this
    9. find a cheaper way to do something
not sure about this one yet
    10. do some outstanding chores - financial, household or personal
    get back on the decluttering
    11. birthdays, Summer holiday, Christmas savings
    all in hand
    12. get fitter

didn't manage the gym last week, only swimming. new start tomorrow
    13. find a new hobby to divert you from shopping
    BYM,

    Thanks for this Anglea,

Frog - gigggle at BYM being classed as your hobby - I am really pleased you managed to meet him, I hate the feeling online when you want to meet somebody and you really get on with the person but it never quite happens to make the transision from online to person.

woo hoo girl- from what i can infer it appears that he stayed over....please clarify:D
I am thrilled for you though.:T
@Nglady- i just surf mostly, hardly watch stuff and don't do gaming or anything. So price wins this one.
No news on men- i saw fwb1 on thursday night- it gets better and better- so much that i have to remind myself why we aint dating (too old, bit aggressive, not my type at all, bald spot, nothing in common...except...:p)

Forgot to weigh myself so i'll move weigh in to bedtime Monday nights.
Spending more money today on dinner- but got a money off voucher so that's ok-ish- though i had to raid the present fund as i had no cash and won't be able to get any before i go :o

off to check weekend damage to finances.

Yes, BYM did stay overnight. I had to take a leap of faith that he was as nice a guy as he appeared from his many messages and poetical lyrics, and my faith was rewarded x
