So you girls need to break the pattern. Break contact from your FWB's because let's face it, they aren't even a good friend let alone anything else.

Would that I had a FWB. I've not spent any time with a guy since last July and that was on holiday

    Hi all

Frogletina I'm talking about the muse in your case. He's holding you back.

Hi CL, good luck with the desk. Does it have drawers? (is one drawer going to be big enough for all your receipts? :))

NGlady, I hope that everything turns out well for you and Deman or else he'll have us all to answer to!

On the subject of men and being taken for granted, I acted different to normal today with ex today. He seemed surprised.

I watched the highlights of the marathon CL. The longest I've run was 11 miles but on grass. I was feeling inspired to take it up again mainly by seeing how slim those girls looked at the start of the race. I bet I could get into my misfits if I did it again - except I'd lose all my bust as it's going down already!

Oh boy Anglea- where is your bust going??? Is it taking the rest of the unwanted stuff too? if not why not?:D
Nice that you flipped it with the ex! It's always good to change the script a little to let all these people know that you aint just gonna let them take advantage of you!
As for the fwb's you know you're right and so do i. I give this advice to a friend regularly! I myself go through phases where i don't care and have no desire to mess about with these fools, then i become all bunny boiler, need attention and go back to this nonsense.:( It's typically an 18 month cycle and though i know it's not long term beneficial- it really does keep me sane for a little while at least. So please feel free to tell me to stop the madness, nag and say 'i told you so' but forgive me if i carry on and snivel a little when i'm done. (no real crying i promise! Well not ever over boys):p

    Two comments tonight girlies :)
    • I heard somewhere it takes 1.5 times the length of a relationship to truely be over a man. What do you think to that ladies? Im not sure. I've only ever really had one relationship I truely had to get over and it took about 14 months to get over, a 8 month relationship. So possible on my account. But I dont have enough examples to know its truety (new word!)
    • I have completely fallen in love with primark. Honestly. I went in today and brought two £5 sundresses and a £10 t-dress. The t-dress doesnt look out of place in somewhere like Dorothy perkins with a £35 price tag, the sundresses wouldnt look out of place £15 in Newlook. Only downsides, every bleeder will be wearing the same thing, upside woohoo Mr Lloyds tsb will be happier. Possible the sundresses wouldnt be good for ladies blessed with big bustages (new word) But at £5 u can truely afford to be a bit risky on stuff you wouldnt normally pick. I also brought some stuff in Dorothy perkins today, and got to say the DP stuff is going back I am so much more happier with the primark stuff. Brought some of the DP stuff on voucher tho so might keep that as a final DP purchase :)
In the past I wouldnt have even considered primark. Not cos im a snob, but i just didnt really find stuff that fitted properly so always considered it a lost cause! there will be some stuff obviously that wont be right, and i wont buy certain things from in there. But shall be deffinatly giving Primark a lot more consideration in the future. However will still do returns on stuff, even for £5 i dont want when there home :)

so i went with intention of splurging big stylie today - i spent an entire £25 lol.

    Hi all

Ziggles my bust :( when I used to do lots of excercising in the last few years everything was getting smaller. So if I took up running there wouldn't be anything left!

As to matters with FWB's, muses or ex's. Or any changes in life.

I think if something happens straightaway and you are in the deep end, you deal with it somehow. So if your FWB's Ziggles both emigrated to Antartica :) you'd have to come up with plan B unless you fancied getting cold and joining them.

But thinking about ditching them and wondering what to do if you couldn't find anyone could be enough to stop you from doing it.

Like this divorce and ex. I still hope for a miracle.

I can't imagine a different kind of life at all.

Some of it might be because I used to have a very unusual and exciting life when I was younger so I don't feel as though I've missed anything out. I was relieved to give it all up.

But some of it is probably down to fear. Most of it financial.

Anglea, I didn't want my relationship with my last partner to end. He did, and in the end I had to love him enough to accept that he wanted to go.

It's hard to accept that feelings change - and I would have done anything if it would have made him stay with me, but nothing would have. He wanted a different life and I had to let him go. And I suddenly had a new life which I had never wanted and struggled to come to terms with.

I still find it hard being on my own which is probably why I hold on to the feelings I feel for anyone new who comes into my life, however briefly. But maybe I am attracted to younger men who will not be life partners, because I am afraid of committing myself to another long term relationship.

I have to admit that i'm with you frogletina- i am a total committment-phobe. Just the thought of a long term, one man relationship puts the fear of God in me! Sad but true. Don't want kids either for the same reason- and i can't bear the thought of being reposnsible for anotehr human being- ever!

    Hi all

That's weird, NGlady's post appeared 3 back, yet wasn't there a minute ago when I read the other posts (scratches head in confusion).

You got sundresses? I admit to a bad buy last year when I bought one of those with the rows of elastic at the top and couldn't get on with it at all. It hurt to wear. Only wore it in the house once. Also tried it as a skirt but didn't feel right with the straps hanging down on the inside. Are yours like that NG?

Frogletina and Ziggles, I might try reverse psychology on you two next week :)

On the subject of finances (and not dating as anyone lurking might be thinking), I was shocked by my spends recently. I've been in book shopping overdrive, trying to make up for the previous challenge I think.

Well Ziggles, one reason is because I couldn't bear the hurt again. I'm not sure I could give up my independence either, at least I am answerable to no-one

But I miss male company, I have male friends - but that is not the same! Would love an FWB, but can't even get a date.
