  • Just typed a long post and lost it somehow????

Congratulions FE, what degree are you planning on doing?

Went to Boots today and spent just under£ 20, but got lots of essentials and two for one's so it should all last me a while.

Meeting up with a friend tomorrow for a coffee and she needs to do some shopping. I will go along with her but hopefully only window shopping for me.

The good thing is that I'm trying to lose some weight so there's not much point really buying new clothes now and I might as well wait a bit. I'm only trying to lose a stone or so so I guess I will wait until Summer before I do some more shopping:A

    Thanks everyone....

Doing a 2 year foundation degree in audio and music production, then that allows me to do one more year at another uni to get a BA in Popular Music Studies, which I may then go on to do an MA in.

However, whilst I am staying in this city but moving into a new home for a year, after that I may move away to do my second year elsewhere. I don't know yet.

My personal life is all up in the air and changing from day to day as well so I am totally overwhelmed but at least I have some sense of focus and direction now.

Material girl - I know its easier said than done, but why not consider how much you can actually afford for food, bus fares, treats everything and only take this amount of money with you? If you do need your debit card, but it in the zip pocket of your handbag and keep it out of site, wont be as easy to just grab the plastic when its not in your purse :) I know, I find it hard to go out with my debit card cos I use public transport. How about, everytime you go out and don't buy clothes, you put a small amount of money into a moneytin, when you loose your stone, you get to open it :D
Im so pleased for you FE - follow your dreams :)

  • That's a great tip NGlady. I have an annual season ticket for my travel so at least that all paid up for. My friend owes me £20 anyway for some tickets I've bought for last week. So, I could just spend that and leave my cards at home. That £20 should be enough for coffe cake and perhaps a little treat.

FE- that sounds so exciting. I understand that it can all feel a bit overwhelming but so worth it in the end! Just go with the flow and embrace the changes in your life. I always think changes can be scary but it is a good feeling to take control and be in charge of your life.

    Evening ladies,

Just read your good news FE - congratulations :j

NG - aww so we can call him your bf now? :D sounds like you had a lovely day anyway. Seems like he notices/remembers the little things, which is sweet :) I'm jealous, all I have is a massive crush on someone who doesn't even know I exist :o lol.

I'm off out for my run soon but thought I'd pop in to say hello. My shopping trip yesterday was rather fruitless:
    -returned £18s worth
-bought some socks (£2), a tshirt for running in (£3), food (£3.72) & £4 on transport!

I saw a lovelyyyy smock in Dorothy Perkins but it was £29 but 20% off... I almost bought it, but then put it down. I kind of regret the putting-it-down part :o

    Right anyway, I'm off! xx

CL - watch the pennies but still treat yourself or life will be very boring :) Out running at 1020pm - you must either be very brave or you must live in a very safe area for a young woman to be alone at night :S I cant imagin it lol.

Then my lovely, MAKE HIM NOTICE YOU ;)

Yep I think you can refer to him as my BF :D

I don't run alone, my mum runs with me :)

I know what you mean about scrimping and saving too much :o Never thought I'd see myself write this, but I should treat myself to something. I've gone from one extreme to the other. I don't get any buzz from shopping anymore, I just feel very guilty about.

I'm beginning to hate *stuff*. I see my nan's house (which I used to think was a treasure trove) and it makes me panic because I never want to end up with that much stuff, all brand new in their carrier bags. I could really see myself heading in that direction up until a couple of months ago... The only thing I need is a new jacket. I didn't need the smock.

I know I'm becoming a boring old s*d. I hope you don't all kick me out of the thread. Sorry :p

Completely Lost - join the club, I'm not buying anything and also lost interest in the compulsive element of our old vice :)

So your nan is a shopaholic too?

I think everyone reading is relieved you're not jogging alone.
